Hey there, It's completely understandable to feel hesitant or uncomfortable with the idea of using a menstrual cup. Inserting any kind of object into the vagina can be intimidating, especially if you're not familiar with the process. However, many people find that using a menstrual cup is a safe and effective alternative to traditional menstrual products like pads and tampons. Menstrual cups are made from medical-grade silicone or latex rubber and are designed to be reusable for several years, making them a more environmentally friendly option. Remember, it's normal to have a learning curve with any new product, so don't be too hard on yourself if it takes some practice to get the hang of using a menstrual cup. Thank you so so much for sharing this!! I have been using since a year now and I just can’t figure out why it leaks every time 😢 I have tried smaller cups and bigger ones that didn’t even pop open once inserted. Please advise
@GLAMRSTV
@GLAMRSTV Жыл бұрын
Hi Susmitha, there are a variety of different reasons why leaks might happen. Here are the most common reasons why your cup might be leaking: - The holes around the rim of the menstrual cup are clogged. The holes are there for a reason: When the cup fills up with blood, the air-pressure inside the cup increases and is released through the holes. If the holes are clogged, the pressure cannot be released and the blood finds another way to flow: Around the cup. To avoid this, try to empty it more often during the first few days of your period/whenever your flow is heavier, and make sure the holes are clear before inserting. You can clean the holes with a sterilized pin or toothpick, or fill the cup with water up to the rim, place your hand on the rim and press the cup- the water will woosh out through the holes and clean them! -It’s possible that your cup is leaking because it’s overflowing. If you find that your flow is super heavy on the first few days, you can empty your cup more frequently until it feels like it has started to slow down. We recommend checking every 3-4 hours if this is the case so you don’t have any surprise leaks! -The placement of your cup in your inner genitals is another common culprit of leaks. It’s possible that your cup is sitting too low in your vaginal canal, which is affecting its ability to properly suction. To place it a bit higher, try inserting it while leaning forwards, and think about inserting it so that it is pointing forwards instead of upwards. Sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to find a way to insert it that works best for your body, so be patient with yourself if you don’t get it perfect right away. -Your period cup might be the wrong size. if you find that your size won’t fully open no matter the fold, you may have to downsize a size. We hope this helps you ❤️ Team Glamrs

I have low cervix and heavy flow . I'm using menstrual cup for about 5-6 cycles. I'm 19 btw and using a medium sized cup. I feel my first 4 days of my cycle my cervix sits lower and no matter how perfectly I put menstrual cup in I leak( it's not horrible leak ,but does leak though when it's not full) and my last 3 days my cervix sits higher so it never leaks from my 5th days. Honestly menstrual cup is so good ,would continue using them because they are far better than other period products!

Hi Srijita, it's great to hear that you're finding menstrual cups to be a better option for your period! It's common for people with a low cervix and heavy flow to experience some leakage during the first few days of their cycle, even when using a properly fitted menstrual cup. This is because the cervix is sitting lower and taking up space in the cup, leaving less room for menstrual fluid. One solution to this issue could be trying a different size or shape of menstrual cup. There are many brands and models available, each with their own unique design features that may work better for your body. You could also try adjusting the placement of your current cup or using a pantyliner as backup during those first few days. Love, Team Glamrs

Hi there, it's understandable to feel frustrated when it comes to using a menstrual cup. Inserting and positioning it correctly can take some practice, and even then, there may be times when it doesn't go quite as smoothly as we'd like. However, it's important to remember that the menstrual cup is still a relatively new product for many people and with time and patience, most users find that they become more comfortable and efficient at using it. If you're finding that insertion is particularly difficult or time-consuming, there are a few tips and tricks that may help. For example, trying different folding techniques or using a water-based lubricant can make the process easier. Additionally, taking some deep breaths or practicing relaxation techniques before inserting the cup can help reduce anxiety and tension in the body. Remember that everyone's experience with menstrual cups is different, and what works for one person may not work for another. Don't be afraid to experiment and try different methods until you find what works best for you. Every woman's body is different and goes through its own period journey, therefore, they should use the hygiene product they are most comfortable with 💜 Love, Team Glamrs

@GLAMRSTV

Hi, the insertion of a menstrual cup can definitely have a learning curve, but once you've mastered the technique, it's fairly easy to do. The cup is designed to open up inside your vagina and (painlessly) suction to your vaginal walls, which keeps it in place. Size is the most important aspect of using a menstrual cup. You’ll know if you have the right size for your body because it will feel snug, painless, and comfy when inserted. The smaller sizes are ideal for teens, beginners, and those with strong vaginal muscles or a low-sitting cervix. The larger sizes are typically designed for anyone who has a heavy flow or has ever delivered a baby vaginally. All that said, these are just guidelines. It may be a trial thing, so don't be afraid to change sizes if one doesn't work out. Your cup should come with its own set of instructions. Make sure to read those, but here’s the gist of insertion: After washing your hands, you can insert a period cup while sitting, standing, or squatting. To do that, you fold the cup in half and, with your legs spread, guide it rim-first into your vagina. Once the stem is about half an inch from the opening of your vagina, rotate the cup so it can open all the way up and lock into place. You might also want to experiment with different folding methods until you find one that’s right for you. Hi there, while glycolic acid can be an effective ingredient for exfoliating and brightening the skin, it is important to use caution when using it on sensitive areas such as the underarms, knees, and elbows. These areas of the body tend to have thinner and more delicate skin.Since you are only 15 years old, we recommend that you speak with a dermatologist before using any new skincare products on sensitive areas of your body. They will be able to advise you on whether or not glycolic acid is appropriate for your specific skin type and condition, as well as provide guidance on how to safely incorporate this ingredient into your skincare routine if needed. It's always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to your skin! however, you can try out Hands Up... An ultra matte brightening cream that improves the appearance of your armpit skin. By using Hands Up you will experience multiple benefits like, underarm skin tone improvement, reduced pigmentation, softer underarms and no body odour alongside great absorption into the skin. Please do a patch test before application. Available in 4 fragrances you can choose the one you want at a fab price of Rs.295, here: b.glamrs.com/3rmQ1YO You can also try Body Glaze is our luscious body-brightening cream that fights off pigmentation especially around the elbows, neck and knees. Anyone experienced please answer my question, the moment when we have to remove the cup then do we have insert our fingers inside to pull the menstrual cup out?...or as we will squat, the stem of the cup would come out?... anyone please help me out!!!... actually I am quite scared to insert my fingers there 😓... although have a bought a cup last year but couldn't use it because of this fear!
@GLAMRSTV
@GLAMRSTV Жыл бұрын
Hi there, when it's time to remove a menstrual cup, it's recommended to first wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Then, you can either squat or sit on the toilet and use your fingers to gently grip the stem of the cup and pull it out. If you're having difficulty reaching the stem, you can bear down with your pelvic muscles to help bring the cup lower. It's important to remember to always release the suction seal of the cup before removing it, as this will make removal easier and more comfortable. To do this, gently squeeze the base of the cup until you feel the suction release. It's understandable to feel scared or nervous about trying something new, especially when it comes to personal hygiene products. However, many people who have made the switch to menstrual cups report feeling more comfortable and confident during their periods. It may take some practice to find a technique that works best for you, but with time and patience, most people are able to comfortably and confidently use a menstrual cup. Much love, Team Glamrs

I'm a teenager and I have a high cervix so which size will be suitable for me?
@GLAMRSTV
@GLAMRSTV Жыл бұрын
Hi there, when it comes to menstrual cups, finding the right size is important for comfort and effectiveness. If you have a high cervix, you'll likely need a longer cup to ensure proper placement and prevent leaks. For teenagers with a high cervix, a larger size may be more comfortable and effective. Look for cups that are labeled as "long" or "high cervix" to ensure the best fit. It's also important to note that everyone's body is different, so it may take some trial and error to find the right cup size and brand that works best for you. If you're unsure about which size to choose or have any concerns about using a menstrual cup, it's always a good idea to consult with your healthcare provider or a trusted healthcare professional who can provide guidance tailored to your specific needs. -Team Glamrs

@@GLAMRSTV is it okay to wash menstrual cup with baby shampoo? Do we need to boil menstrual cup after periods?
@GLAMRSTV
@GLAMRSTV Жыл бұрын
Menstrual cup manufacturers recommend using only water or a specialized cleaner designed specifically for menstrual cups. This is because certain types of soaps or cleaners can damage the silicone material of the cup over time, potentially reducing its lifespan or effectiveness. If you do choose to use baby shampoo to clean your menstrual cup, make sure to rinse it thoroughly with warm water afterward to remove any residue. It's also a good idea to check the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and care guidelines specific to your brand of menstrual cup. Yes, it's generally recommended to boil your menstrual cup after each period to ensure proper hygiene and remove any bacteria or buildup that may have accumulated during use. Boiling the cup in water for 5-10 minutes is an effective way to sanitize it and prepare it for future use. Make sure to use a pot that is dedicated solely to boiling your menstrual cup, as using one that you also use for cooking can introduce unwanted contaminants.
