I purchased a used one as the piece is a bit pricey, but the machine kzbin.infoUgkxG6fbm3cHBd7CNTjk5D-dwYe9c9tCB9ZN has surpassed my expectations. We sand small parts by hand often, sized around 1"x1/2," and specifically look for a piece that's designed to be vertical. The motor has plenty of torque and great speed settings. The only inconvenience I had is that the disk measures 5" where we trim 6" stick-and-sand disks down easily by mounting it then cutting with a box cutter.

Thanks for the Video. I used mine once and when I was almost finished sanding top of 2 tv folding tables it lost power. Still turns on but lower speed. Any idea,what couldve happened?
@CaseyGCreates
@CaseyGCreates 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! There are several things that could've happened. How do you have the dust collection set up? Is there a bag on it? It could be that you just need to empty that out. You might've been pressing the sander down while sanding and it could have something mechanical broken inside. Depending on what brand and how old it is, it could have a warranty still left on it. If not the repair might be more than to get a new one.

Hi! Thanks for watching! I'm not sure what the velcro thing is for on a 1/4 sheet sander. A random orbital sander (they're round instead of square) has velcro and the sandpaper is the other velcro side for easy changing. Does it have clamps on the side to hold the sandpaper? Or is the velcro the way to hold the sandpaper?

No concrete is too tough for a small sander like this. You’d need something a lot stronger like an angle grinder with a concrete wheel. Or even better is a concrete rubbing stone!

Make sure to hold it in both hands while you're using it the first few times until you're comfortable. Sometimes it will slip but make sure your hands or something important isn't near the blade.It sounds awful, too so wear some ear plugs or something while you're using it, too.

So why the hole punch to put holes in the bottom of the sandpaper? My skill sander is not that way.
@CaseyGCreates
@CaseyGCreates Жыл бұрын
It doesn't have the hole punch or the holes at all? As far as I know a sander needs the holes to allow the dust that you're sanding off to be vacuumed into the dust bag so it doesn't go everywhere.
@dmariewalker6880
@dmariewalker6880 Жыл бұрын
@@CaseyGCreates nope, none at all, I’m using it now, sanding my deck.
@CaseyGCreates
@CaseyGCreates Жыл бұрын
@@dmariewalker6880 There are no holes on the pad where you put the paper or just the paper? It's not that I don't believe you, it's just that seems pretty unsafe and inefficient. Without the holes, the dust doesn't have a safe place to go. It either gets stuck in the sandpaper, so it's not as smooth a finish or it goes out in the air and then you breathe it in. It's good that you're using it outside though!

I'm not sure about a Black & Decker as I only have the Hyper Tough. If it's a 1/4 sheet sander, it should be the same as the one I have. If not, try searching for a video similar to mine but for a random orbital sander, belt sander, or a detail sander.

How many time can a sheet of sandpaper be used?
@CaseyGCreates
@CaseyGCreates 3 жыл бұрын
Longer than you would think but as long as it's still removing wood from your piece, it can be used. You might have to work a little bit more at it after some time but as long as it's still useful, you can use it.

@CaseyGCreates

It does have a pretty high pitched noise with it but most sanders do. Wear ear muffs if it’s too much for you. I turned down the audio from when I was recording but mine did sound like a little girl screaming lol I haven’t had an issue with the circular saw. Hyper tough brand isn’t the best brand out there so it honestly doesn’t surprise me you’ve had issues.

Yes that can happen if you’re holding it too hard. It’s normal though! The sander vibrates and your hands aren’t used to vibrating like that so there will be some getting used to it.
