You're welcome Catherine! You'll have to come down sometime and try cutting with the plasma cutter!

Hi, thanks again for your wonderful video. Best thing is that you give theory and then goes into practical, you are a good teacher.. few questions. 1. For automotive i believe torch is more than enough to cut upto 1/2inch or may be 3/4". When you want to cut more than 1 inch I believe we can use plasma?, is that right.? 2. Since toch can cut 1/2 based on tip, will not doing multiple pass like 3 pass will cut 3 times the 1/2 inch which is 3/4 ?. 3. on a side note if i use mig welder should the tip that has silverwire on the trigger have to touch the welding material or there should be a gap.

Yes the cutting torch should cut up to 1/2" no problem. A plasma cutter doesn't always cut thicker stuff, in fact I use my plasma cutter for sheet metal only. You don't do multiple passes for cutting torches. If they don't cut through, they fling slag all over the place and the cut goes off your line. The wire should be 3/8" away from the metal. Too far and you'll get spatter and wire. Too close and the spatter will freeze the wire to the contact tip. Cheers!
