A flashlight is invaluable. The strobe effect? effective
@ivormcfadzean3253 ай бұрын
Aye simple and brutal
@willbibbee3383 ай бұрын
Flashlights also have the additional benefit of helping you see in the dark, improving situational awareness and hopefully letting you see a threat before it turns into an ambush. Also 1000 lumens to eyes blows chunks. Even in daylight it leaves afterimages and blurs like you accidentally looked at the sun. At night it’s worse almost completely blinding. For a fun example go buy some 200 lumen cheapo flashlights from a dollar store and spar lightly with a friend. Preferably around dusk. Boxing someone with a flashlight is miserable. Got my ass beat by someone I go toe to toe with on the regular, and he really only used his lead hand.
@Markmygame3 ай бұрын
I think a flashlight should be the only pocket stick you should consider unless there's a exceptional reason not to. It has the benefits you included plus it has a pocket clip so its easier to draw than other pocket sticks. Plus they usually fill the hand for good grip and better fist load. But most useful aspect of the flashlight is not self defense against ppl. But self defense against puddles, ice, potholes in the sidewalk, unexpected curb drops, cobblestone, etc. Using my flashlight has the primary self defense aspect of not landing on my ass in the dark lol

When i go running i carry one of those small training weights that look like that stick etc. It's probably the most basic thing you can have, just trying to use hands/fist can easily leave them injured, so some sort of 'object' is needed to avoid this. And of course, with it being in the hand already it can be used instantly.
