Kyle, please help. I have a drawing printed on an A4 piece of paper but the drawing is drawn to a scale of 1:100 @A1, how would i convert it from A1 to my A4 paper, then use the scale ruler?

This is just a flat scale ruler, they come in heaps of different brands, shapes and sizes. It doesn't matter too much which one you get, just try get one with decent scales on it :)

Call me surprised, but I learned to use a scale rule at 14 in school, not years later at University. Then again, we were also using slide rules back then. edit: I was also taught as a young fella (engineer), never, ever, lift a size off of a drawing, even if it was a controlled document.

I have never used these scales, I always calculated with calculator everytime which is hectic and time taking. Guys, just buy scales and learn to use it.
