Had a buddy of mine use a squirrel caller and a coyote run in on him. One of the most comical things I've ever seen. Not sure who was scared the most, my buddy or the coyote.

ShowMeDaCarFax 56 They're probably gonna spot you anyways, and start making these sounds on their own. lol. It's not squirrel hunting in a public park. Deep woods squirrels are VERY aware of their surroundings. Just camo up, hide, be still, and be patient. And try to be very quite going to your spot. If the leaves are real dry and noisy(fall), use this to your advantage. Move quickly, then take breaks or pauses. This is how deer travel. And other squirrels. I ran face to face with a buck doing this. I think that he thought I was another deer, and came to check me out. lol

They don't only do that because of danger. They do it also to sort of entice other squirrels to play.
