Hi Jane I’m getting storage heaters installed the installers is insisting that the cables have to be trunked rather than through walls and ceiling said that because I’ve got wood floors they would have to be ripped up also he says he not allowed to put the heaters under windows which in winter are the coldest part of the rooms where currently electric wall heaters sit what’s your opinion on these decisions thank you 😊

Get a heat pump, reduce electricity cost 4-5 x. Meaning that you can heat normally for less money, and without the faff.

Isn't the whole concept of storage heaters nonsensical? If something heats up, then it's going to emit heat. Turning the output all the way down makes about a 1% difference. You may as well try to collect and store light.

It heats up brick inside the heater and keeps it in until you decide to release it during the day. Because you use the electricity at night, the cost is less than if you used it during the day. Those were designed by engineers, and have been in use for decades. Even though it’s still cheaper to use than non storage heater, it’s still very expensive with the electric costs of today.
