A subsoiler actually designed to create a hole in the hard pan caused by plowing at the same depth all the time. Research has been done that show roots will follow this opening.

To lay the water pipe, I seen it it recommended that you rip once without the pipe and then rip in the same place again with the pipe. This is especially true in hard soil or long runs.

I just laid 2000' of 1" line with mine, after making a pass first. If there were any rocks or anything else, I wanted to know before laying the water line.

@@portnuefflyer you ran pex that way?
@portnuefflyer Жыл бұрын
@@jamesballew5001 1" poly, laid out in front of the tractor, up and over the roll bar, down into the subsoiler. Worked slick! Only hassle was stopping to make the coupler joints every 300', as the coupler wouldn't fit thru. Late summer no less, hard soil, spring would have been even easier. I'm actually looking forward to laying more this year!

I run a subsoiler in the garden, because it's Ohio clay. Then I use my tiller. It helps the water drain down instead of just sit on the top.

I would sure like to see how you set up your subsoiler to lay water pipe and cable. I found your video because I was trying to find a way to do this. How do you keep the cable or pipe from pulling up out of the ground as you pull it with the subsoiler? I would also like to see your setup to attach the cable to the subsoiler. Thanks

my sub soiler is just like yours but it won't go down but about 1/2 the depth of the shaft. I pulling with a 40 hp allis chamlers tractor. have ballast in rear tires & weights on front end. rear arms will almost reach the ground with nothing attached.do ineed to add weight to the subsoiler frame? chanse

This is old but you may need to adjust the geometry of your top link. Particularly if you are going way down the top link may be restricting travel or simply angling the tooth causing it now to want to go deeper. You could also just be hitting rock.

Is there a version of this that has a cutting edge on the front of it to cut roots?
@EverythingAttachments8 жыл бұрын
+Troy Stephens The subsoiler has a hardened steel point on the bottom. The upright beam is pointed to better cut through the soil and/or roots.
@tstep5228 жыл бұрын
EverythingAttachment awesome, thank you for getting back to me. What size of root do you think it can cut?
@douglasbarnes40358 жыл бұрын
Some do have a coulter in front to cut the sod so that it cuts through more cleanly.

How much does your subsoiler cost, with shipping to Georgia?
@chuckwhite86398 жыл бұрын
I bought the subsoiler at an auction in Ohio and it had never been used, yesterday I hooked it up and my 3 point hitch top connector seems to be a little too long, I don't have the right angle for the foot to penetrate the soil. I'm going to have to do something quick my tree seedlings are coming in three days and I subsoil the rows before planting.
@terrylm2352 жыл бұрын
It doesn't have a cutting disk in front of the subsoiler to prevent clumps being produced.

Hello: I have a 16.5 hp Mitsubishi Tractor, can I run a subsoiler where I have taken up bamboo?
@andrewbrenneman95923 жыл бұрын
16.5 hp might be on the low side. But it could also depend on your tires. IE,.. R1 or R4

I have a Long 560 and the subsoiler will not go down as far as your tractor. Is there an adjustment on the tractor or is it a universal down pressure issue? Thanks
@ledbetterjack7 жыл бұрын
You may need to adjust your top link so the point doesn't point up. Also be sure your lift arms are going down enough for what you want to do. That is unless you have hard rock 18" down, then you'll need down pressure.
@georgelowellohhdgg63nnd967 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jackie. The angle of the subsoiler is good and the lift arms are all the way down.

What about my 30 horse mower with big tires n locking diff, any chance? Happen to offer a smaller model?
@EverythingAttachments6 жыл бұрын
I'll link the smallest we know of, but it requires a tractor which has a category 1 three point hitch. Feel free to email sales@everythingattachments.com with any questions. Thanks!
