Thank you for the detailed explanation. Now it's sure that I will never use AAC Blocks. Using these blocks are a mess and traditional red bricks are the best. These blocks should be renamed to ultra complicated blocks.

Just imagine U r having cool sleep on bed and ur split AC is mounted on ur wall (AAC) on header side.... One fine night because of slight vibration after a year of installation the wall mounted Unit will fall on ur head while u r sleeping and from chill to one will become cold forever...😄😄😄

Since the building is already completed and people are already residing and then only the cracks were observed and we tried to get them repaired but the cracks are persisting and forming at the same place or elsewhere also and now i would like to know the remedial action to be taken for non occurrence of the same if there is any chance and if there is no chance of the same then how to camouflage the cracks with cheap and best solution.

I have a doubt on the reason given for cracks near bearing of lintel while using AAC blocks. Normally AAC blocks are used only for non-load bearing structures ie used for RCC framed structures. No load from slab will be transferred to lintel. Consider an RCC lintel of thickness 150mm over an opening of 1.2m with a bearing of 0.3m on either side. Consider height of masonry above lintel as 1m, thickness of AAC wall as 0.15m. If the unit weight of AAC is takes as 5 kN/cum, that of concrete used in lintel as 24 kN/cum, then the reaction at each end of lintel on account of self weight of RCC lintel and masonry = (1.8*0.15*0.15*24 + 1.8*0.15*1*6)/2 = 1296 N. The stress on ACC block will be 1296/(150x300) = 0.03 N/sqmm. This is very small as compared to the strength of AAC block. Why should the AAC block near bearing of lintel crack? The reason for cracks should be something else.
