Nice work. As someone who has bumbled along and taught myself I wish I'd seen this a couple of years ago as I think it would have been very helpful to my past self. Even today it cleared up a couple of little issues for me. Thanks!

Great tutorial. I am an artist that recreates art in the packaging industry. I am given old printed samples to imitate. Those less used adjustments come in handy to replicate spot color (vs process) graphics that have been scanned in - especially say posterize and selective color.

Excellent. Thank you. This was perfect for my level and cemented a few things really well.

As always Anthony great instructional technique. Nice clear examples that you use to highlight the learning point(s) Layers has been my nemesis as I just couldn't get the proverbial coin to 'drop;; however at long last and many many videos later, I think I finally get it. I'll see tomorrow if I wake up and have forgotten everything :-) or will it stick. Wish me luck and thanks again!

Anthony is it possible to remove reflections from a photo taken through a window?
@mikechapman12802 жыл бұрын
Anthony thanks for all your great tutorials, but im suffering overload, so much software to use/choose. For mostly wildlife editing and printing would maybe capture one be best to stick with? which seems to have all the capabilities in one , or could you suggest best approach. thanks
@jlopez75962 жыл бұрын
I hope Anthony gives you his opinion. As i continue to learn every day this is what I have found. There is one software that does everything and it is called photoshop it is only limited to your knowledge, skill, and time envolved in editing. With that being said you have to determine what you really want to accomplish. Testing different ones will help you find which one fits your personal work flow and goals. Each software has advantages and disadvantages. I personally use quite a few different programs so i can choose the right tool for the job meaning alot times it has automated steps vs manual one or ideas I never would have thought of. It has been a couple of years since I have tried capture one and it was not intuitive for me in addition to being 2.5 times the price of adobe was outweighing the benifits. I need to try them again. We are fortunate to have competiting software. If you are only doing one genre of photography it will be easier for you to determine which one fits your needs the best.

@@jlopez7596 Thanks for your comments, all makes sense, think I have been impatient and realise it takes time to understand these programs especially P/S. Look forward to Anthonys comments,

You don't have to create the new layer after creating the selection. When you create a selection and then with the selection still active you create a adjustment layer the mask is automatically applied to the adjustment layer. Perhaps you need to invert the mask but that's it.

When you use image adjustments (not adjustment layers) are those adjustments destructive?
@leniehulse16212 жыл бұрын
I think that they are not destructive per se but you cannot go back and edit as you can do with layers.
@tinmanjc2 жыл бұрын
Yes. Adjustment layers don’t alter pixels on layers below them and image layers do. Once you quit photoshop there is no way to retrieve your original image from that file.

One of the big differences is having layers that can be turned on or off or changed without affecting other layers.

The problem is the properties tab just doesn’t get invoked as expected in 2024 photoshop
@Rio-by1eh Жыл бұрын
I’ve used photoshop for 20 yrs , with 2024 the user interface got really unpredictable, I’ve used adjustment layers before , but now it is just plane odd, I click on the adjustment and the graph does not get invoked ….?
