Quick question, since I see you using a graphic tablet and I'm waiting on a XP-PEN Artist Pro 15.6 to arrive..What would be your choice, a 15.6/16" graphic tablet or a 27" IPS 10bit factory calibrated 100% sRGB / Adobe monitor? Maybe you have a recommendation for a monitor?...I was thinking/looking at the ViewSonic VP2780 4K, ViewSonic VP2771 2K or BenQ PD2700U 4K...or if I wait long enough (until Black Friday) I might find a ViewSonic VP2768-4K in my budget...I can return the graphic tablet, so it's kind of a "buy/try it and see if I like it" thing for me.. Sorry, It was supposed to be a quick question, insight from anybody is welcomed :) Thanks Nick!
@NickPage5 жыл бұрын
I personally have the Benq 27" "photographers" monitor. full adobeRGB Its a great monitor, and I love it, but my tablet makes a bigger impact on what I do. As long as you take the time to calibrate your monitor so you can trust your colors and contrast. My tablet is the Wacom intuos medium pro.. and I love it. I havn't used a mouse in a couple years now, I dont even own one.
@ItsWillLee5 жыл бұрын
@@NickPage Thanks so much for your time! Truly appreciated. I'm looking forward to trying the tablet, I see them becoming really popular lately. My sister just bought the X-Rite 1Pro colour calibrator last month, works great on her new BenQ, but not so much on my cheap 6 year old LG, lol. That's funny about not owning a mouse, I hate them for ergonomics and have been using a pen mouse for over a year now. I'm pretty sure I'm going to fall in love with editing on the tablet, I'll probably still buy a new monitor on Black Friday...my wallet never gets heavy, lol ;-p

great job! much appreciated! i'm just getting into layer masks and most of the tutorials I have found seem to be "too much" or "not enough", often not specifying... clearly.... things like, "this is the icon you have to click on to generate a layer mask". with photoshop, I often get the feeling like I have to know how to do everything before I am able to do anything. this video removes that hurdle by answering the all important, "here's what you need to know to get started... and actually be able to do something" question. nicely balanced! thanks!

Nick, yesterday I attempted my 1st ever post processing in photoshop trying to use layers, taking cues from your video clip and trust me I was over the moon that finally I could use them successfully & process my image.
