I live outside China and, for shipping I found an international shipping company in China to receive goods on my behalf and then send it to me, should I put their address as my shipping address on Taobao or better to contact the seller to send for him the company’s shipping address? I’ve now tried WeChat Pay as that allows completing the expiry date with the keypad rather than a fixed selection. Having problems with this App too. Cash is looking the best option now.

You cant send anyone yuan directly. Only pay on websites like taobao or 1688 with tourpass. What tourpass does is that it accepts your mastercard and converts it to RMB, but this RMB can only be used for shopping, not for giving individuals money!

You need to be verified first on tourcard. People should be able to send you money to your ALIPAY balance, not the TOURCARD balance. Doesnt matter in China or not. But if you are outside of China, recommend to use a VPN into China if receiving money from people.

I spoke with alipay customer service and they told me that I can use it purchase goods at a store but not to "top off/ send and receive" money. Am i missing a step or something. So alipay and alipay tourcard /tourpass are 2 different systems. You can top up rmb via alipay tourcard and use that money to purchase goods or you can use your card on alipay to make a purchase on let's say taobao that accept international cards. You cannot top up rmb to your alipay (not tourpass) account without a Chinese bank account.

@@wolfmanj3 tourcard is version 2.0 of tourpass. Same process just renamed in the alipay app. If the merchant accepts foreign cards, you can use alipay to make the payment. (I.e. Mcdonald's POS devices) if they don't accept foreign cards, alipay most likely won't work unless you use tourcard with a topped up amount. Hello mate. My situation is: i lived in China, have a bank account but the passport that i used to create the account is going to expire soon. I had some money on my bank account so i just top up to my alipay account in order to don’t lose the access to my account when the passport expires and lose all the money. Now the question is: is it safe on alipay? The expiration of the passport will not affect the money that i have there? Will i be able to transaction freely? Help me please.

How much money are we talking about? And yes, in my opinion depending on the amount, alipay is better versus bank because the funds will be 100% frozen once the passport expires and then you are totally screwed. You can DM me on IG or send an email at [e-mail] if you want a more detailed solution.
