hi, "middle-aged old guy here" and just bought a compressor. Thanks for this tutorial! Back to my warm milk and afghan now. Where's my walker?

Oh my goodness, I'm so glad I found this before I tried out my new air-compressor. I've never used one before and I'm a bit scared of it. The instructions with the brand I bought had nothing in them like what you have in your video - even attaching the col to the unit and air-tool wasn't in it. I'd have been running on intuition if I'd used it. I had no idea that it should be run for 30 minutes prior to using. Thank you. I'm female and 66 years old, and determined to learn to use these things.

I have that rug also thanks for the tutorial, because I've used the nail gun a million times but i never actually started up the compressor and got it set-up myself. You rock.

".....And it's cute!" Omg I love it. I'm also doing an accent wall and needed a nail gun. Had no clue what I was buying at first but I got everything I needed. Now I need to know how to use it without anything blowing up in my face lol. Thank you your video was helpful.

nice video. I do suggest people use the release valve after use, but leave about 12-15lbs of pressure THEN open the drain valve (with that residual pressure). Lowering to near 0 (as you show) won't leave enough pressure to get the moisture out when you use the drain valve. Also, the drain valve really should be facing down (towards the ground) so gravity will help get the residual moisture out of the tank (facing-up is least optimal) - it may seem silly - but moisture really does collect in a compressor (especially in humid environments) - get as much moisture out after each use (end of day) greatly reduces chances the tank rusts inside (which can be dangerous under pressure) over years of use.
@TheDajoca Жыл бұрын
Great vid. But the pressure release is not for dumping the air after use. Use the drain valve under the tank to blow any moisture out and help stop your tank from rusting. Using the pressure release valve, doesn't drain the tank and can eventually cause the valve to not work correctly. Also, drain the tank with the drain valve facing down - at the lowest point, otherwise the water just stays inside.

it's actually better to just release the pressure after use by opening the dump valve on the bottom as the air in the tank will just force and liquids out. After a day of heavy use you can usually see a ton of liquid shooting out when releasing the pressure.
@caranewhart4 жыл бұрын
Interesting!! I’m going off my instructions trying to be safe, but getting the liquid out is definitely important!! Maybe it varies by compressor and how much pressure you have in it 💁🏻♀️
@strykervalkyrion4 жыл бұрын
All compressors basically work the same and operate around the same pressure. Only difference is capacity and how fast the pump fills it up. If you're worried about following instructions, you can just run the compressor for about 30 seconds after emptying with the unit angled towards the dump valve and the dump valve open. This will force any liquids out. Personally, I wouldn't use the emergency relief valve as a dump valve since keeping your fingers on the pin with all the air coming out can get pretty icy and like the name implies it's really just for emergencies where the tank regulator fails and the pump doesn't automatically shut off (extremely rare) so that excess air is released and the tank doesn't explode.

I have a battery nail gun. But im struggling to get the nails to go all the way into the timber. Im wondering if havibg a compresser set up would save me. As with the batter NG you seem to need to press real hard. Causing issues with my hands. Do you find with the right pressure you just line up and shoot? So to speak 😊

My girlfriend bought me this, she listed the same three reasons you list! You are right, it’s a great compressor for nail guns. Even though there’s a whole new batch of battery powered nail guns out there, they are heavier to use and expensive to buy or replace if they break down. I even use this Ryobi with my $100 framing nail gun on small remodel jobs. It drives shoots four or five 3-inch framing nails before refilling.

Hi Do you use use a spray gun with this tool?
@taztaz794 жыл бұрын
I would say no.. Spray guns (if you mean big ones) use a lot of air and this compressor is not suitable for that.. You could use this compressor for filling tires, different nailguns and blowing a bit of air to clean stuff.. Saw a guy use an impact wrench to losen lugnuts on his car with this one.. It actually works... :) You might have to wait a while for it to charge in between though but the guy managed to take out 2 nuts before it started to charge and total 5 nuts before it lost to much pressure for the 6th one :) ..
@taztaz794 жыл бұрын
You could use it for paint brush though...
