LOL the hand pump builds muscles! and yeah you're right LOL it is "tough and exhausting' but one soon gets fitter by doing it and in a that log cabin in the woods where u hiked into like some maniac carrying not only food but you heavy hand pump, you can shoot as much as you like and get super fit.

I bought a PCP just for the different ways I can mount the pump, floor, wall, off the deck, curls. Then when your arms are shaking from the workout...Try to keep that scope stable, great practice for real world issues.

I've got a stirrup pump but decided the exercise was too extreme so bought a cheap electronic pump off eBay, it has a 6000psi rating and fills my 35CL bottle in five minutes, the pump cost £170 = $200 and came with the leash, foster fitting, and 12-volt transformer and car battery jumper leads so you can fill at home or in the motor when your out shooting, if you are just about to get into PCP shooting I recommend the electronic pump, don't waste time with a stirrup pump, you will upgrade to a electronic pump, a cheap electronic pump is actually cheaper than a good stirrup pump,

I'm an island guy too, Nassau. Where do you get tanks filled to 4500psi. Scuba shops I spoke to told me they can only do 3000-3500. And thanks for the videos. Very informative, and entertainig.

Brenden I go to swim and scuba shop in Rockville centre. Very nice guy Steven. I will fill your tank no matter how big to 4500psi. About $15 a fill. I have two tanks and at $30 to fill both almost every week during the summer I just figured it was more convenient to buy a Yong Heng. And it was the best thing I did. Sometimes he takes a few hours to fill. If you live far away it's a pain in ass. Where are on the island?

The converter or step down nut would normally be referred to as a reducing fitting 1/4" mpt by 1/8 fpt and the female foster is of 1/8" fpt. not mpt. The tee is 1/4" fpt The valve you added would be a H.P. rated needle valve, 1/4 x1/4 fpt. Just adding so people know what to ask for. Although , now you can buy the whole set up (minus the needle valve which is a great idea) for cheaper and get a glycerin or "liquid" filled gauge as a bonus. MPT-male pipe or tapered thread a f would be female.
@rickye77385 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't be too worried about that tank after it expires but I sure hope those little fittings you installed are rated to that kind of air pressure and not just water pipe fittings from your local plumbing store.

I don't think you guys understand the difference between air pressure rating and water pressure rating. Air pressure rating has a mass of safety factor because if it fails it could be catastrophic whereas water pressure rating does not because water is not compressive therefore if it fails there's no explosion, similar to when I water heater fails.

No scuba shops here so someone suggested the fire department. I spoke to them and they refused to fill a tank. They were concerned with back contamination from the tank since it was being used to fill a device and not for breathing. There is an industrial gas cylinder company and you can get a LARGE tank from them but moisture could be a concern. Any suggestions when using that kind of gas company?

Anyone starting on HPA should understand there's BSPP, METRIC, NPT, and BSPT. If its tapered put teflon on it. If its straight use crush washers or ring washers

I’m new to this but it’s confusing. My understanding scuba tanks are cheaper because they are heavier and they have a lower capacity? My PCP rifle has a 250 bars/500 cc bottle attached to it. I asked someone else about using a small scuba to keep in my backpack for portability and average scuba tank for my car and he said the maximum average of an air tank is 3000 psi so this will not fully refill your airgun as you will be short of a full refill and as you keep refilling it, you will get less and less air into your airgun. If I can get more than one fill from a scuba tank, why won’t it fill my PCP gun fully the first time and less and less the more times you refill your PCP Gun? I have enclosed what he wrote before. This is the part I don’t understand. Simply put, How many times can I refill my gun with a small portable scuba tank and how many refills with a normal sized scuba tank?

Seal that "chip" with quality cyanoacrylate after using the prep. Just to help it from developing cracks stemming from the damaged spot. Just a little "band-aid" for insurance.

Hello my friend, and I do mean friend. On your say so I have purchased a Weirauch HW 110 ST FAC .117. Not knowing what kind of compressor to buy I went and bought a surprise a"Young Heng" compressor. It came very well packaged "I was impressed". They must have changed the instruction format because it was very easy to read and understand. Not one letter of Chinese. Really liked the extra o rings and such. The only complaint that I have is.... that is was not shipped with oil. Maybe the reason was due too regulations. As a newbie and I mean NEWBIE I extremely apricate your videos. I wish I could repay you for the money that you saved me. Hey got a idea... Hey Tim, don't waste your money on a flow control valve. No need because it's easy enough to just crack the SCBA tank valve slowly and control the flow by hand. I took it off my fill whip about a year ago and never looked back. No need for it. Not like you will blow your gun up cause it's very easy to control directly for the SCBA valve.

@AirVelocitySport4 жыл бұрын
Most scuba tanks are only 2400 psi or 3000 psi. Even if your tank is large it will never be able to fill a 3000psi gun. And each time you fill your gun it will be less and less. You need a SCBA self contained breathing apparatus which firemen use? These tanks are 4500psi and will do a much better job filling your gun

Steel tanks are much heavier and generally I have seen them around 3000psi or less. More and more manufacturers are making carbon fiber 4500 PSI tanks at lower costs as they are becoming very popular. There are the Chinese options as well on eBay, Amazon and AliExpress just make sure you buy a DOT certified tank and not a Chinese certified one.
