I've read the book. It was required for a preaching class. I use the method but I find the God section difficult. I still use three points. I know Andy suggests the one point sermon. ME WE GOD YOU WE

Valuable points! Going to use them coming Sunday. Thank you! One technical point. I'm listening to your videos with earphones. At the end you are using some percussion music for closure. After listening a mono sound of your voice this music comes in stereo and has a strong effect of the real presence in the room I am in. It has startled me twice already! :) I don't know what can be done, may be make it mono sound and the effect will be not as strong. Just a note.

Great video! How is this used for expository sermons? Usually the whole beginning and intro is explaining the background, dates, history, setting, etc. so I feel like it’s hard to start off plugging me and we in there at first?

I thought he made some good points (pun intended), but I didn’t find it to be life changing like almost every preacher I’ve seen discuss it. Guess I’m just weird... Of course, Stanley embraces a “how to” type of preaching focus. I think he misses the point about the goal of preaching the Word - it’s about treasuring and proclaiming Jesus first.

Hi Gantt, sorry for my delayed reply. Thanks for commenting. I think Andy's style doesn't have to be a mere "how-to" but it can and should be Christ-centered when done well.

I can totally see Paul doing this method to revolutionize his preaching. Not really. Here is how to have a great sermon: stop listening to this nonsense. Read the Bible. Read James Montgomery Boice. Pray. Preach.

But why is it nonsense? The Bible is read. The tension created in the first part of the sermon can't be solved unless the Bible is read. And prayer should be the foundation of our sermon prep/delivery. I can't speak for Andy but my guess is he would agree.
