I downloaded Anki years ago but I've always felt so overwhelmed by it... your video is making me feel like I can sort of wrap my head around it for the first time, than you!

Glad it helped! I feel like Anki has a big barrier to entry. The concept is fairly straightforward but the app design and user guide are so confusing!

Same here! I’ve had it installed on my computer and iPhones for years, but could just never really figure out how are you’re supposed to use it. I finally decided to turn to Google for help, and this video was the first thing that popped up. Interestingly enough, the deck that is imported in this video is the one that I had just read about on Reddit as being really good, and that was what inspired me to finally figure out how to use Anki.

Yeah they are very different in terms of the algorithm, but you'd hardly know by the way they are labeled! You can tweak the settings so that the difference isn't as prominent, but I found it was simpler to save the 'easy' button for words that I already knew very well

I was able to keep up really easily with everything you were saying, and never felt lost, even with the fast pace of your explanations. You also demystified a lot of the key functions concerning Anki and its setup, particularly in the settings section. I was having real trouble trying to wrap my head around it and the Browser section before watching your video, so thanks a lot! :) All in all, you've made a great beginner friendly video, and you've more than earned a like and a sub. Thank you for the time and effort you put into this video. The video has saved me from pulling out a lot of hair. I am curious to know if you will be making a video about how to make your own cards with written kana and kanji. I been unsuccessful making cards with just hiragana and katakana writing. I haven't attempted kanji considering the nightmare I am having with basic kana. Anyways, I have subscribed and turned notifications on in case you do!
@AliviasNook3 жыл бұрын
Glad you found it useful! I’m unsure if I understand your question, do you mean figuring out how to type in kana and kanji on your computer in order to make your own cards?
@sullyd.2253 жыл бұрын
@@AliviasNook My apologies. Yes, I a referring to typing kana and kanji on my computer to make my own cards. I have read several articles that state an add-on must be downloaded before Anki will have the option to write in kana and kanji. I have downloaded several of them, and I cannot get them to work. I followed the author's instructions, at least the best I could consider their less-than-clear writing. My hope is with your excellent communication and clarity skills I will finally be able to write kana and kanji.
@AliviasNook3 жыл бұрын
@@sullyd.225 Ah I see. I don't believe I downloaded any add-on to type kana on Anki, instead, I added a Japanese keyboard to my computer through the system settings.
