Actually beyond happy I found your channel. You literally take the stress off of creating in blender by “dumbing it down” in a sense. 😭plus u don’t leave anything out, you tell us every possible way to access something instead of just using the hotkeys

Thanks for sharing this, been using blender for a year but never realised this functionality existed! Blender is a powerful software but oftentimes too many features are hidden and we need creators like you to show us all the good stuff!

Thanks so much for the tip - it was exactly what I was looking for. For anyone who wants the TL:DR: "To activate first person camera, press shift-tilde. Then use WASD to move around, and Q/E to move up and down. Mouse scroll will adjust movement speed. Hold shift to move faster. And right-click will return to normal camera."

Thank you so much for this. I’ve used Blender for years, but somehow never knew this was even possible (well, aside from the old game engine, I suppose). For the work I’ve been doing recently, this is going to be invaluable. I’m just confused about why/how I missed it.

Ohh, that's very useful. But there is one point where I am facing an issue. When we press Shift+Tilda and then Tab to activate walk navigation through our model then the camera has a fixed height i.e., 2.43 m and which is not an average height. So in this mode how we can change camera height? Thanks

Did you try separating the objects with the linked selection tool? Going in edit mode, clicking one of the vertices and holding ctrl + L to only select the ones actually attached by edges (or hovering over one of the parts and pressing L). If needbe, you can also limit the selection areas by going to the bottom left corner when you click Ctrl + L and selecting “limit by uv” or any of the other options. Hope this helps!

Hi Ryan, thank you for this video. I just started Blender this week and I hope this isn't a dumb question but: what steps would I take to make it possible to "walk" on a spherical object without being pulled down the Z Axis? So far I've tried making an object magnetic, but idk how to go any further than this.
@RyanKingArt2 жыл бұрын
Hmm, you could set the 3d cursor to the center of the sphere, and then set the transform pivot point to the 3d cursor. then you could rotate the camera and that should make it rotate around the sphere.

Is there a way to limit the camera to a landscape, when i use gravity activated, for my walk around navigation, because when the camera comes outside, it fall, because of gravity
@pranavk28882 жыл бұрын
A small question when you press (G) the camera uses gravity but I want to change the height of the person so that when I press (G) I can see in a different height. so how do I do this?

in Blender's user preferences under Navigation, Walk and Fly, you can change the size of the person walking.

5:50 - immediately I had only one question, and you answered it. 😁 I've only recently started working with auto-keyframing, so there's still a fair amount to learn about the ins and outs of it. I do have another tangentially related question, however, concerning the keyframes: once you're finished navigating and keying the camera's motion, can you convert that movement into an editable path? 😳
@RyanKingArt2 жыл бұрын
Hmm, I bet there is a way to do that, but I don't know how.
