How to use Brown Gorilla Glue to Patch Air Bed Leaks Busted Seams in Sleep Number® Bed Air Chambers

I bought the Airbed Pros patch kit and it works great! I actually bought the Gorilla Glue Clear"Non foaming" and used that instead of the original Gorilla Glue. This is how I did the repair. With Gorilla Glue Clear. I still have plenty of Canvas patch left for more repairs...let's just hope I don't have any more hole in the future. Thanks Brandon and Airbed Pros! 1) Cut the size patch you need. 2) Wet the hole with water, I just dipped my finger in a cup of water and moistened the hole. 3) Put a good dime size drop of Gorilla Glue over the hole, then place the Canvas patch on top of it 4) Put light pressure like in the video and I let a little bit go to the edges. 5) I waited about 4 hours(for the first Gorilla Glue application to dry), then moistened the patch and edges with my finger dipped in a cup of water. 6) I then smothered the edges and whole patch with Gorilla Glue Clear. 7) Waited 24 hours, then pumped up the mattress to 100. I then took my soapy water bottle and sprayed the patch, NO LEAKS! It's been holding up great! P.S. The hole on mine was at the edge of the bed at the crease. Pretty difficult area..not flat but at the curve/crease of the corners.

@@SnackySquirrel Been working for years. I do things a little different from the video. Put a dime size amount of glue on the hole first, then put patch on top, then cover the whole patch with glue all the edges and top...it will look like a swimming pool but it won't hurt it, more glue won't hurt. I use Gorilla Glue clear as it won't cause bubbles.

Well I botched my first patch attempt, tried coating a piece of clear vinyl in flex seal, then tape it down over the leak, I wonder if it would have worked if I'd left it longer, understand that flex seal has a 48 hour curring Anyhow seems the seem is what gave, you meantioned that could happen, but not how to fix it in this video, any advice there? Going to check if that's covered on another video thanks for doing what you do

great job!. I foolishly put a weight on the patch. Wrong! the patch stuck to the weight.So I followed your directions perfectly, I'm impressed with the adding glue around the perimiter, which stopped the very small air leak. I patched 2 mattresses!

What works best for me is to get an empty spray bottle and add maybe a tablespoon of dish soap and then fill with water. Now spray around the air mattress. When you see the bubbles, that's your leak.

We’re fixing the leak after moving across the country. Not sure about the elevation thing but I do know in the past our previous sleep numbers have leaked and we’re done. No more. It is the most comfortable bed ever but just not worth it. I’ve looked at the Saatva and the prices aren’t bad and of course no leaking!!!

Ours is a nightmare too. Goes from 100% to 5% in 20 minutes and is nothing but a nightmare to deal with. We are leaning towards the purple now because there's so many good reviews on them. The only complaint there even is is that after a few years it starts to very lightly sag but is just as comfortable. I can handle that so we went and laid on one and were surprised at how comfortable it felt and how cool to the touch it was while laying on it.

Being old and having a massive heat wave my valve is no leaking where it glues into the mattress core. Would liquid PVC be enough to fix this small leak? OP or any commenter, could you help?

Mark, I always use a spray cleaner to lightly spray the canvas in 2 X 2 square areas and it will almost look dry, the take a damp wash cloth (not dripping) and wipe over the area. It will start to foam or bubble where there is a whole. Hope this helps - Brandon

Mark my son found mine by putting pressure on the air chamber and listening in a quite room. He went straight to the leak we couldn’t even see a hole but when he put his finger on the spot it stopped leaking. I was amazed

Put some dish soap in a spray bottle with some water and spray the blown up air mattress all around. Just do a little at a time and look for air bubbles foaming up from the hole/puncture.

+Jude Green You have a busted seam, the canvas has torn and allowed the latex side to bubble up. An easy fix though. If your air chamber hose has a check valve in it, you may require some additional help to make this work. Please give me a call at [phone] - my name is Brandon. Let the air out of the chamber enough to push the bubble down. be sure not to puncture it. Then apply Gorilla Glue and a Canvas Air Chamber Patch from my website and smooth out the air bubbles till it dries. as it begins to dry it will also harden preventing it from tearing again. Hope this helps.

We purchased the repair”kit “ from you however there was no glue no instructions just a couple of patches. The biggest patch which is what I need. Has a crease down the middle so I can’t even use it! How about a video on how to fix a cut in the sleep number mattress.. bigger than a pin hole! Please respond back to me

That creased patch is for corners. Not what you need. Check their site again. The glue is gorilla glue like he shows in the video. Got mine at Walmart. You can get it most anywhere. I keep it in the junk drawer for household repairs. Good luck!

This is old but try using an inflatable mattress patch kit with guerilla glue. As long as the slit is around half the diameter, you should be fine. Same process- and the patch is rubber with guerilla glue holding it and sealing the slit. Old, but hope this comment helps someone! You can activate the guerilla glue via using a hot air blow dryer - just do not apply it with too much air in the mattress. You want enough in to keep shape, but not so much it creates toocmuch pressure and pushes air out the hole. This helps it to form to shape while inflated- under slight air pressure which encourages and helps faster curing of the guerilla glue due to moisture in the air.

Maybe I'm over thinking this, but with the kind of hole I have (a 1/4" tear), do I need to be concerned about the glue going through and possibly gluing the patch to the inside of the opposite side of the air chamber?

Mine bout same. Mine at the seam, is it possible to patch it and it'll be alright? There had formed a bubble near the seam. Mine is a big air mattress that has the built in cord, and all to air it up. I loved it like to save it but if it can't be then ty for this vid. Love watching these helpful tips!!

Not sure if this is still monitored but worth an ask anyway. You mentioned a blown seam at the tail end of this video. My mattress got one just the other day and I'm curious as to how to fix it. It's between 1/8 and 1/4 inch long. Can I use a patch the way you did but bigger? If not, what do you recommend?

It looks like there are two main steps. Gluing the patch and then sealing the edges. You suggest waiting before sealing the edges. Is that 8-12 hours for the patch itself and then another 8-12 hours for the edges?

Tyler and Senique Scary Vids hi I had a tiny slit in the seam of my air mattress I put the glue from a regular repair kit from Walmart the patch is green but after I placed it on there with the glue I can still here the air going out and now the slit has gotten bigger so I did it again should I get the gorilla glue instead my bed still have me on the floor within by morning do I have to wait because after I finish I got back on my bed I didn't know I had to wait
