Absolutely Leon, it's been because one of the benefits of oil is (being vertical in the water column) it does carry other soluble substances up in the water. The other great use of oil is as a lipid source for energy, so the protein doesn't get wasted on this.

But how do you add them For example are frozen better than shelf life for soaking it in If using frozen do you just add straight from freezer or do you dehydrate first then use the oil to hydrate them Cheers Brian

Defrost frozen and add or add straight to shelflife

Hey Leon I'm fishing a spot at 10m deep the fish crashing in 14m/20m water I have been spombing bait every night for a week so when I clip up to I allow for more due to depth?
@LEONBARTROPPCARPER7 жыл бұрын
+Paul Bedford i tend to clip up the same place as I want the bait behind my rigs

It does not matter which oil you use; carp cannot detect oil, oil is not an attractor. it's hydrophobic and cannot mix with water. Other than that, great video 👍
@LEONBARTROPPCARPER6 жыл бұрын
Totally agree with what you are saying but I’ve seen fish when they go over an area with oil droplets coming up from the baited area and they go down onto that area and feed so there something in it but cant work out what it is all I know is that it works

hi Leon is it a good idea to use hemp oil if there are a lot of bream around? thanks again for the great videos.

Personally I'd be more cautious of high levels of fishmeal, seems to be like catnip to the slimy buggers

+TjDolHaus86 depends on size of hookbait and double hookbait usually keeps the bream away
@DjDolHaus867 жыл бұрын
I do agree that double baits help a bit but I've had enough 5lb bream on 24mm baits to know that unless you go to extremes they'll always find a way to get it down their faces lol With double baits I'm always concerned that they're picking up the tail boilie and dragging the hook around but maybe that's just me. My local waters are full of hungry 3-8lb bream and they've always been a problem but since switching over to birdfood/nut based baits I can't remember the last time I had a snotty. Maybe the bream in my locals have just not encountered them enough to recognise them as food yet but it's been uncanny, its been like I've got a bream proof shield around my spots while others around me are getting battered. Fortunately the carp are more adventurous and my catch rates have soared, I'd guess just because the food is there when the carp show up rather than being mopped up instantly by the bream

Hi Leon my rods are 12ft 6 my spod rod is 12ft how's it best to fish same distance when using distance sticks? Thanx
@steveow407 жыл бұрын
paul robinson distance is dictated by the distance between the sticks. As long as you can cast the distance/number of wraps you have marked and require is doesn't matter if the spod rod is 10,11,12 or 13' as the distance is always the distance x wraps. Simples.

12 ‘ = 4 yards. Then wrap up. Don’t worry about bigger/ smaller rods. Tight lines.

Roy Close try Urban baits Livercracker chap it's been a game changer for my fishing. Try adding a liquid to your hookbaits then dusting them with it. Leave them to soak it in and repeat to add more pulling power 👍
