My family and friends keep belittling me whenever I start colouring. They thought it's only for kids. But I understand that not everyone understand the joy of colouring and making arts. 😃 I came from a poor family. We can't afford coloured pencils back then when I was at school. Clear, concise explanations with excellent visual demonstrations. This video has been immensely helpful to me as I am just getting back to drawing after about 50 years (mostly did cartoons at that time) and never used colored pencils before (always either B/W pencil sketches or filled in with marker - which, along with water color I do not like). Although I have stumbled onto each of your main points as I have been drawing, I didn't understand how to properly execute any of the techniques. I simply did things trial and error. Your explanations have put things into perspective. I really enjoy using colored pencils so now knowing the proper how-to will definitely help. Thanks!

Great video. I'm just starting out with my art work as therapy for mindfulness and I absolutely love it. I started with colour markers and then glitter gel pens, which I love to use on their own or combine the two. I have just purchased my first set of coloured pencils and have gone for Arteza which I bought from Amazon at a great price. I went for these over the Prismacolour due to the fact that they seem to be selling a lot of fake pencils and have read loads of reviews about the Arteza pencils saying how good they are for a more budget pencil. Can't wait to get them and start colouring!

I am an author/illustrator, and I had originally started my work with colored pencils. I switched to digital because I didn't like how my art looked when I scanned it. But recently, I've started to realize that there was nothing wrong with my work, just with my scanner! I'm definitely switching back to colored pencil! This lady has some skillz - I saw her use her fingernail while blending out with the colorless blender and said “what!”. I rewound the video to see what she did. I’ve never seen anybody else coloring on KZbin using their fingernail like that to support their pencil. Great technique!!!!!!!!

Sometimes I have to look at my artwork to remind myself of how good I really am at coloring but for some reason I continue to look up techniques to make my work better trying to make it better.I layer my colors sometimes and instead of shading from light to dark. I shade from dark to light because it takes entirely to long to go over one spot 5 to 6 times. Everyone's work is different. My coloring is beautiful.

Oh wow! My 7 prismas and 12 crayolas are like the best ones I have out of any set I got.. And I didnt know you could make more colors with layering. Gonna have fun with that. And now I realized why it was so hard to layer even with my crayola pencils when I applied max pressure!
