Uses of 'saja' has also confusion in this context. If possible add a video for that one also. Btw thanks! Your playlists aren’t boring and at the same time effective also.

"saja" digunakan untuk penguat setelah kata "hanya" atau "cuma". Contohnya "hanya/cuma ini saja yang saya punya" artinya sama dengan "hanya/cuma ini yang saya punya" tapi lebih ditekan atau dikuatkan. Namun untuk perintah atau menganjurkan sesuatu tidak digunakan kata "hanya/cuma". Contohnya "kamu saja yang pergi", "ambil itu saja!".

Masuk akal. “only” can be used in a similar way but it’s easier and more natural to say “but”. I want to buy this bag only it’s too expensive.I want to meet you only I can’t.

This is little complicated. But it answers some questions why I’ve seen cuma a lot, in the but meaning. But I wonder about this: “I just want to meet you” vs “I only want to meet you”. Is big difference. How would I know if they use cuma for both meanings. Just - (have a need to meet the person, while ignoring the fact if there is other people there.) I would guess Indonesian speaker would say Hanya, to avoid some miscommunication in the context?

Indonesian is not a plural language. if only one person use "kamu" if more than 1 person uses 'kalian " aku cuman ingin bertemu denganmu aku cuman ingin bertemu dengan kalian
@rizkyadiyanto79227 ай бұрын
easy. just put the cuma depending on the focus of the sentence. i just want to meet you = aku cuma ingin ketemu sama kamu i only want to meet you = aku ingin ketemu cuma sama kamu

Biasanya orang Indonesia bilang “Terima kasih sudah mengajarkan ..” Kalau mau pakai “terima kasih atas” biasanya tidak pakai me- Karena biasanya dipakai dengan “noun” Terima kasih atas pelajarannya Terima kasih atas videonya

I've hardly ever heard any Indonesians using "cuma" as "but" other than people from Jakarta and surroundings. I guess it's influenced by Betawinese dialect, which uses the word "Cuman" as "but". I personally prefer to use the word "tapi" to express "but". "Tetapi" is more formal like in news or books. Btw, in informal situation, we don't say "Saya cuma mau bertemu kamu", but we say "Saya cuma mau ketemu kamu". Ketemu is the informal form of Bertemu. Please don't mix formal and informal words in a sentence together because it sounds weird. I want to meet you tonight. Formal : Saya ingin bertemu (dengan) kamu nanti malam. Informal : Aku mau ketemu kamu nanti malam. Very informal : Gue pingin ketemu (sama) lo entar malam. Formal >< Informal >< Very Informal Saya >< Aku >< Gue Ingin >< Mau >< Kepingin or Pingin Nanti malam >< nanti malam >< entar malam

Ohhhh thanks, i was confused if i should use tapi or cuma. also i thought gue is only used in jakarta? or is it not?
@Flickaholic888 Жыл бұрын
@@zzslpr Yes, Gue and Lu are mostly used in Jakarta area and surroundings (Depok-Tangerang-Bekasi area). Used only to talk to friends or someone very close to you. Other regions outside Jakarta tend to use Aku-Kamu if they speak in Indonesian, or sometimes they just speak with their own local words to express I-You, for instance people in West Java area will say I-You as Abdi-Anjeun (polite) or Aing-Sia (impolite), or people in some regions in Sumatera prefer to say Aku-Kau (not Kamu). But due to the influence of television and social media, sometimes youngsters outside Jakarta may also speak Gue-Lu to their friends, but this is not common. So I can say if you hear someone speak using Gue-Lu, you can safely assume that the person must be from Jakarta or had ever lived in Jakarta before. Fun fact, if you speak Aku-Kamu to your close friends in Jakarta, they might consider you weird, because in Jakarta, Aku-Kamu are used usually only by couples (people in love relationship) or between husband and wife. So if people hear you speak Aku-Kamu to your friend, they might think that you are in a relationship with him/her, lol. Meanwhile in regions outside Jakarta, it is considered very normal to speak Aku-Kamu to your friends, no prejudice at all.
