do your coasters need polyurethene or some kind of protectorant?

Mine are mostly just for decoration. Although we do use them occasionally. Because they’re only varnished the mug will stick slightly to the surface. It never damages the appearance or surface though. So I recommend something sturdier if you want to use them as more robust and functional.
