I discovered your channel after googling tools 101. I’m a college student and my dad taught nothing about tools. I am trying to be able to fix stuff around the house without having to call someone. I’m sure there are some thing I won’t be able to do because I am not trying to become a mechanic or expect but I just want to be able to learn some knowledge. Thank you for your videos!

I was trying to teach my daughter how to use my tools before I loaned them to her & I found your channel & she learned alot bc you made the info easy to understand for her, beginner. I sure didn't want my power tools coming back all messed up, so this worked great for her & she actually listened & learned! Thx! She listens to others, bc of course moms & dads don't know anything, haha! Thx for saving my power tools! Haha

Very thorough. Nobody ever explained step by step like that. I was an athlete for few decades that’s why I didn’t learn. Career ended and not coaching so I would rather have learned mechanical skills also. Thank you both.

Wow, this just saved me a lot of problems. Best explanations I’ve found. My late husband was a contractor, but his tools are too big. I got the drill you use and now understand all the fine details. I need to add a bit on my uke and now I won’t ruin the instrument. First I have to get the right drill bits!😁

Thank you so much for this! This was so helpful, so many other videos or guides use language and terms they expect you to know, even when they say it’s a beginners guide- this was perfect for me- a real beginner! I liked how u showed what happens to the wood and why. You explained everything so clearly without being patronising or over-talking it and admitting your own mistakes - helps me feel better! I hate being reliant on others to do diy jobs for me- this has given me the knowledge and confidence to do it myself 😁👍

9 months late to the party but thank you so much for this video and others! I've just moved into a place of my own and want to be able to do the 'big jobs' without relying on a tradesman or my male family members - I'm way too impatient to wait 😂 but the most DIY I've done on my own is with a hammer and nails hahaha. Hi! Thanks so much for your informative videos! My last comment was about size of drill bits… I was asking about size of drill- so apparently there is different sized DRILLS. 1/2” Drills, 3/8” DRILLS. Some jobs say make sure to used a 1/2” drill, for example. Do we need to buy multiple DRILLS, or can one drill do all the work. I have a cordless little screwdriver, but it takes for ever to drill a hole with it, if I did find a drill bit to fit into it. So I don’t think your video on “how to use a drill” went into how to “buy a drill” or “which drill do you need to buy” video… 😊 thank you.
@NextJeneration
@NextJeneration Жыл бұрын
I would buy the one we showed in that video. It’s extremely versatile and can be used for just about anything. The only time we use a different drill is when drilling into brick or concrete (we use a hammer drill for that)

Hey! I love your videos. This tool 1x1 is incredibly helpful to me! I'm not a native speaker, but improving my English while learning interesting stuff about tools and DIY is a cool plus. Small criticism: For me, the music that lays under the videos is too loud. I like it in the intro or time-lapses, but when you're explaining something it really distracts me and I find it not necessary. Thanks a lot !

What does the variety number of V means? What is the difference between 88V drill and 48V drill?
@NextJeneration
@NextJeneration 3 жыл бұрын
Ours is a 20V. The higher the volt, the lower the amperage (less power). So an 80V drill will do the same amount of work as a 40V, but using less power therefore taking longer and more battery.

Oh she did ask me, " how does she know which size prehole(twist hole bit) bit to use for the different screw size? My mom taught me years ago, really by feel & eyeing it, lol... so I just had her give me the screws & I bagged the different size screws for each project with the correct size twist hole drill bit for her. I'd like to tell her how to figure it out on her own, so I can just hand her my drill bit set(s) & her know how to pick the correct twist bit to the screw size. Is there an easy answer I can give her going forward? Thx so much!
