How to use Epic Pen with OBS Studio - step by step set up tutorial - use as a telestrator

Learn how to use Epic Pen with your OBS Studio setup as I take you through the initial hurdles that would otherwise likely waste a good half hour of your time, solving them for you in less than five minutes.
Please be aware I am not an Epic Pen employee, my knowledge extends only as far as the method shown in this video that I worked out myself after trial and error. ​@@shwetasah9936 If your pen drawing isn't showing up in OBS at all it's likely that you've got the wrong Window selected in the OBS Window capture. It first selects "EpicPen.exe: Epic Pen" but you need to change the Window captured to EpicPen Display1 or Display2 as shown in the video. If it's not that then I'm afraid I don't know what's going wrong for you, I only really know the material covered in the video and the problems that I came across myself. The other thing I could suggest is to try on their discord community and see if anyone can help you out: discord.com/invite/c8DxR9m or contact them directly @ epic-pen.com/contact

For others that only have Display 1 you may encounter an issue where it doesn't show up as drawing within OBS. If you set the capture method to Windows Graphic Capture that should resolve it (btw don't try and type an exclamation point when using Epic Pen at the same time LOL)

Its still drawing out of the position 😞. The problem is that my monitor is 49 inch, and I have to go full screen to get that drawing tools on correct position. normally I do not use full screen on that bog monitor. Is that any solution to fit the drawing as the windows size and not the monitor size?

If they're not showing up on the recording then they must not be added as a source. I'd run over the steps again and make sure that the epic pen 'screen' is added to OBS and maybe try changing the window the source is focusing on a few times to make sure it's looking in the right place.

seems like nowadays tha windows graphics option is just "Windows 10 (1903 and up)". I clicked that and it went from black screen / infinite repeating cursor, to overlaying over my game properly.

Hey, I've looked into this because I didn't even notice I have the yellow borders as well around the edges of my screen: obsproject.com/forum/threads/when-i-am-in-captured-window-i-see-yellow-lines-on-screen.126951/ It doesn't seem to be a feature that can be turned off in Windows. What I have noticed is that the yellow borders don't show up in the OBS preview itself, so a workaround would be to share the Windowed Projector preview from OBS rather than the full screen itself. To get to that you right click on the main OBS window and it should be the 5th option down Windowed Projector (Preview). The Windowed Projector window will start off as being super tiny but you can drag it to be full-sized and then share that window through Discord and similar. Let me know if that helps.

Damn, that sucks. I wish I could help further but if it doesn't work for you like it did for me in this video then it may be worth taking to Epic Pen themselves. The problems I've seen people have so far are not having Windows 10 mainly, but I'm not sure how it'd work for a single monitor setup either.
