I am, took me 3 different download and attempts with failure after failure. This or that wouldnt record, audio was poop, and i watched a tutorial on how to record 3 sources with a plug in and voila, i got 6 hours of content recorded to fill my next 2 weeks of uploads!! (I upload monday, thursday and saturday). Once i got obs dialed, ill never use another recording application again.

Thank you. I bought a screen capture device for recording my online classes. I had no idea how to use it and expected instructions with the device. The advertisement said no drivers needed. It was stand alone. The documentation provided was some electrical warnings and some pictures of how to hook it up. I had never heard of OBS software. Needless to say the device did not work. I did not even have sound through my speakers. Your video showed me how to use this. I am not interested in streaming anything but recording, yes. It worked. I tested by recording around 30 seconds of a Netflix show, I did not even look at what I was using to test. I stopped recording. I went to where the file was written. I played it. Again it worked. Great great help. I am sure if you did as well for the uses for making material as you did for recording the new users in that arena will be just as happy. Oh and .mkv plays without remux in VLC.

This seriously helped me get started with being able to get my overlay and OBS set up. I commissioned a gaming overlay for twitch a couple years ago but the pandemic messed up my plans and now that I have had some time to recoup and reevaluate I am ready to get started.
