6. Cavalry: Use cavalry on the flanks to surround and attack baseline infantry. Melee cavalry is best for fighting other cavalry units, while shock cavalry is effective against infantry. Missile cavalry is annoying to face and can bring down enemy cavalry and infantry.
7. Pelas and F spear units: Use these units to zone away enemy archers from certain positions. Stand behind the main line and throw at enemy archers when they are not well-protected. Pelas have more range and F spears can be effective in combat.
8. Chariots: They can be strong but are also fragile. Use them on defense as a surprise sellout or in an ambush. Avoid units with shoot wall and F spear units. On land battles, use them to disrupt the enemy main line before the clash of infantry lines.
9. Elephants: They are expensive and risky. Hide them inside settlements or wait for opportunities to attack enemy units without archers or spear units. Spam attack and movement orders once in combat.
10. Artillery units: Giant ballista is useful for breaking down walls in barbarian settlements. Scorpion units are good for defense and can focus down enemy elite units or archers. Place them in long streets to avoid enemy fire.
11. Archers and slingers: Shoot infantry in the non-shield side for more damage. Dodge enemy arrows by moving back and forth. Focus on low armored units and use all your ammo. Slingers don't need to focus on non-shield side.
12. Pikes: Use a main line of cheap pike units to force the enemy to attack your flanks. Position strong units like elite cavalry on the flanks. Keep pikes away from enemy missiles.

I once had my very heavy pikeman upfront and close behind them my very heavy missile infantry. When the enemies very heavy missile attacked my pikeman unit, I pushed my infantry against them and it works every time again.

I once fought a Multiplayer battle in defense city with thureos spears only (we won pretty easily but i lost my general pretty stupidly) but these spears 😂 empty ammo on the attackers and then square up at the keypositions, but i also gotta say, our enemys had the worst units against missiles, barbarian, one arverni and the other had bloodsworn faction

🐘 on attack can work well as a late attack clean-up and surprise with a barbarian settlement, where often is more space to maneuver. At least worked for me in Burdigala (where else😂).

I use sword heavy infantry 17 + 3 heavy horse cavalry in flanks combination.,..if total 2 army then 2nd army 18 +2, it won't need alot of macro management and have total greater numbers of infantry to win battles. 5 heavy horse calvary is enof to kill enemy bow units and infantry finish the rest

never use formation attack unless your being pilad in the sides

I agree with most things you said exepct pikes. I'm currently playing a Macedon campaign and pikes make the bulk of my armies and was preety sucessfull in land battles. Pikes have the range vs sword or spear infantry and in my expirience they preformed realy good. I do agree that archers are their worst enemy.

I hate elephants so easy to counter with missile units and very slow, i recently used chariots with cav support and they wreck enemy back line hard, easily get 300-400 kills each destroying the enemy back line,
