Great video. Learnt a lot. Takeaway being only do half the job at a time. Wait for foam to cure and use cut-offs to fill the other cavities prior to applying a smaller amount to finish the job.

This the best pest nest ever. Insulation, ground contact, and the wind is blocked.
@Pazza725 ай бұрын
I agree, this should not be blocked, air should be able to freely circulate under the sub floor to avoid rot and use mesh wire to stop rodents and pest making a home under your summer house.

Great video, especially the part about wetting the surface. Just an important note that expanding foam can be toxic so I wouldn't use a kitchen knife to cut it, even if you clean it afterwards with acetone, it can get messy.

Thanks 👍, it’s only the wife and kids that use the knife so I have nothing to worry about 😝

would it stop water from seeping in under the shed?

He forgot to say to hold the can upright to clear the delivery tube otherwise the foam would also harden in the tube.

Will the foam harden and cure properly if it's applied in cold weather?
@Thetomrichardson2 ай бұрын
It should do yes, it’s a chemical reaction that makes it hard 😉

can this foam be used to fill a small hole made by birds? my biggest concern is flammability, the structure faces direct sunlight, is this foam going to ignite outdoors?
@Thetomrichardson3 ай бұрын
You can fill small holes with it, it should be flame resistant and waterproof but check with the manufacturer beforehand. Thanks

You really don’t want to throw the gloves away. It’s volatile when it’s in its drying state. Avoid contact with bare skin.

Does it have waterproof properties?

The product I used does, but check the manufacturer instructions and guidelines before using.

Must make sure its waterproof, not all expanding foams are, its so important to get a waterproof foam even if your covering it with panels etc, water will find its way in anywhere so again use a waterproof foam!.

Thanks for the demo, but you'd be in the dog house if you used my knife block for this, blunted one of my knives on the concrete and then put it back in the block without washing it!!!! 😡😅

Never apply foam to a damp substrate. Sprayfoam 101.
@Thetomrichardson Жыл бұрын
That may all depend on the product your using, as stated on the soudal website (who manufactures the no nonsense foam) Application method Shake the aerosol can for at least 20 seconds. Open the cover and fold the tube horizontally. Surface should be free from grease and dust. Moisten surfaces with a water sprayer prior to application. For non-conventional substrates a preliminary adhesion test is recommended. Fill holes and cavities for 1/3, as the foam will expand. Repeat shaking regularly during application. If you have to work in layers repeat moistening after each layer. Always read the instructions 101
