I've never known a teacher give so much valuable information in such a short time. It's like you knew exactly what everyone wants to hear. You can not find this stuff in other videos or even in books. It obviously comes from experience. Excellent job on all your videos.

I always wanted a water shot like that, but had no idea how long to set the shutter. Thank you for that, and helping to solve the mystery of exposure control.

Lastly lastly, thank you for doing this Blog in such bad weather (which I love to be out in) but its the perfect weather too do a compensation video in. Hi Martin - so glad you enjoyed the tutorial and that you are getting back into photography! We all go through creative dry spells. I sometimes give myself little "assignments" that are just for fun and not put any pressure on myself to create good images. Sometimes that helps get over the hump.

Maybe 20 at most . Got one that I like . My partner said go on print it off . It’s now framed and on the wall . I feel I’m getting back on track at last . Once again thanks for the inspiration x

Great video and beautiful shots. I shoot alot of waterfalls but in the warm weather of Hawaii. You definitely worked for those shots in the snow but they are awesome. I'm another one that never really uses exposure compensation but your explanation is well received. I might take a trip to the PNW to practice.

About 90% of those who put out tutorials obviously don’t watch them: too many mistakes; disjointed; the twirling 360° selfies... ugh! Thanks, Philip! We've really had a lot of late season snow here in VT. We seems to be in a cold snap and are getting weekly snow dumps! Hard to believe it was almost 60 in February... I love snow too, but I am excited to see some green soon. It may not be until May though! Maybe I should head South for a little greenery! :)

Great video, Brenda, thank you! I've always avoided using exposure compensation and instead just shot in manual and estimated how much I needed to offset with overexposing. But it seems like I'd do less work and get fewer throw-away images by switching to one of the priority modes and using this method.

Thanks, Andy! In all honesty, when I'm doing landscape photography, I almost always shoot in full manual mode. I made it a rule for myself a while back to only use full manual until I really got comfortable with it (took lots of terrible shots, but it was worth the learning curve). I usually only switch to one of the priority modes when it would be more convenient to do so, like when time is of the essence. That said, I agree that shooting in full manual does then mean you end up with more test shots that would be throw away shots.
