Very informative content, clear to understand (the Photopills video with Rafael is very difficult to understand - unless you are from his country). Although this video is 4 years old perhaps you could do an update? Look forward to seeing more. Many thanks.

Thank you. Indeed very helpful. Wouldnt you lose sharpness at f16? I thought after f11 on a 35’mm sensor you get a loss of sharpness from diffraction?

Merci .......................................................................................................................................................................................................... Hello I did the exercise again, I placed the red pin and the black pin. In panel 2 I have distance 2.4km azimuth 299.8° and altitude difference 0m/-0.01°. I put the black pin on the torch (it's not the height of the torch, but the terrain) and the red pin on the small pontoon. The two pins give me an altitude of 0m which unless I'm mistaken is not logical. Can you help me? Thank you

Brenda, I do have a question for you. How can I be sure that the foreground building I have in mind will actually be visible form my planned shooting location? Your example and Rafael's conveniently shoot across a body of water. I want to shoot the full moon rise over the Salesforce tower in San Francisco and the planner tells me I need to be at the Golden Gate Park to do so. But without actually going there first, how can I know whether the Salesforce tower will actually be visible from that location?

I know this is 6 years later, but wanted to watch the MW timelapse. As a woman, do you ever get creeped out by other's who may be around you? I could imagine if that was a party with alcohol involved, that it could potentially be dangerous. I struggle with being outdoors alone at night shooting, and my husband really isn't comfortable with it. I fear people more than the animals, but so far haven't had a problem yet. Thanks for a great video.... too bad about the headlights in your shots.

Have to confess I came here to learn more about PhotoPills because I’ve found PlanIt Pro app to be far superior but never discussed. Figure I better see if there’s something I’m missing in PhotoPills.

Thank you, your videos have been excellent. I wanted to love the app, but I couldn't understand quite well a lot of things, and the "official" tutorials are completely awful, not because of the content, but because of the way Rafa speaks, the creator of the app. I also speak spanish, and it's really incredible, not in spanish or englisn is understandable hahaha.

You have a GIFT! This video was such a great help to me after learning of Photo Pill for the first time and preparing to become an astro photographer. I'm sure I will watch each video several times. The speed of talking is perfect for me unlike some videos where the speaker talks way too fast. And you are obviously very knowledgeable about the app. I am glad to subscribe to Outdoor Photography. I am not going to search for another tutorial as it couldn't be any better. Thanks so much for all the time you must have invested in creating this course. See you soon! Ted in Sebastian, Fl.

Love this series! Thanks so much for your down-to-earth and common-sense approach! Being ready for dissappointment is definitely half the battle with astro. I live in Mexico City and normally can never shoot the stars, and on a trip to Sri Lanka I carried a tripod the whole time without having a single clear nigh to shoot! Wish me luck on my trips this summer lol

Pretty good advice but I have a few sciencey nitpicks for the curious (and not faulting the advice - it's all right, for slightly wrong reasons). The first is the cold batteries: cold doesn't drain the batteries, it just reduces their performance while they're cold. Batteries are just a chemical reaction in a box, and all chemical reactions slow when cold. Cold batteries will actually self-discharge SLOWER than warm batteries, but when you USE them cold they underperform and appear to be flat. Keeping them inside your jacket so they're ready to go is good advice though! The second is the silica desiccant. Plastic-bagging the camera is great advice (keep the warm air and its moisture away from the cold object). The repurposed silica packets aren't doing anything for you though, it's fully loaded with moisture once it's been exposed for a few hours. HOWEVER, if you do want to be really thorough, you can apparently "recharge" it by baking the moisture out in an oven - I've never tried this myself though. I suppose this is slightly faulting the advice slightly, but only the silica bit, just leave that out unless you're drying them before sealing them in the bag.

Firstly - great lesson thanks. Focus stacking is great - in a culture where CHEATING is acceptable, so lets go for honest photography, and leave the cheats to AIs etc. The only way the ART can beat AI is through Honesty

can you educate me please: “woozle”??? when you make up fun words, kindly explain what they mean ;) The word you've entered isn't in the dictionary. Click on a spelling suggestion below or try again using the search bar above. ( Websters) woozily? having a soft, indistinct, or unfocused quality : vague, fuzzy. Collins:Sorry, no results for “woozle” in the English Dictionary. Did you mean: foozle? 1. to bungle (a shot) golf not photography.
