WHAT IS FTP ?

So its name suggests, the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standardized network protocol used to transfer files between a client and a server over the internet. (In simple words exchanging files between local PC to Website/Web hosting )
And when we make this transfer encrypted and secure then it is called SFTP. So while using sftp all the data is end to end encrypted , so it is very safe. (Remember whats app saying the messages are encrypter, not sure about

To do ftp transfer task we need a piece of free software. Which is file zilla. You can do via other softwares or via most of the browsers too. But filezilla offers many more features .
So with file zilla you can
-upload
-download
-delete
-rename
-move
-copy files
-changing files permissions
(Any many more features)
Important : WHY YOU NEED FILE ZILLA

Reason 1) Now you will say that why you need Filezilla, when you can do this directly from your cpanel's file manager too.
Well you need use filezilla because it is very fast to connect and move and manage files using filezilla. Specially if you have multiple sites or if you manage sites for your cleints.
You can add all ftp account at one place and in 1 click you are connected to that website. when in coanel. you need to login into hosting account and then go to cpanel and then click on file manager and then the work starts.
Reason 2 ) You should use when you are transferring large alount of file. because when you use cpanel it works via browser and you know browsers crash all the time. You it makes FTP/filezilla a safer choice.
Reason 3) If you want to share your websites file with someone like a designer or a developer, You should not share them the cpanel details. instead you can create a ftp account for them and they can connect to your site using they ftp account and filezilla. You can give them permission to specific folders too. you can define if they are allower to edit /delete a file or not. where in cpanel this is not possible.

You cannot set up filezilla via ssh, you can set up ftp connection though. I agree with you that there are not much tutorials. The reason is using a client like filezilla make this much easier, specially for beginners. Even after spending many years, i still prefer filezilla because it is so easy.

Hello, I can understand it can be sonfucing sometimes if you are starting: So if you upload file in public_html OR root folder you can access in browser by entering yourwebsiteurl.com/htmlfilename . Hope that helped :)

Here are the instructions to increase the number of simultaneous transfers in FileZilla for faster upload and download of files: In Filezilla click Edit. Click Settings…. Click Transfers. Increase Maximum simultaneous transfers to 10. Click Ok. If you find that you are getting failed transfers or your internet connection is too slow for your other tasks (whilst transferring files) then lower the number of concurrent transfers in FileZilla.

after reading your comment, I started looking around (I already downloaded it eek) so it's too late now, I hope that's not true. I can say that it seems all the threads and forum discussion about it seem to be from as old as 2015 and I don't see anything newer, so maybe it's not an issue anymore? A reddit thread from 2 years ago talks about adware, but nothing about malware. Who knows.

Rest any piece of software is not 100% safe. but it depends on our own action too,, visiting download websites, connecting to public wifi, using easy passwords, Installing apps / software without research. rest Filezilla is safe you can continue using it.

So if you want to import into csv you can use a plugin inside wordpress dashboard. there are so many plugins available to download products and orders in csv and various other fromats.
