As a side note to this, there is also FTPS, known as File Transfer Protocol Secure. Yes, there are two secure variations of FTP: SFTP and FTPS. FTPS uses SSL/TLS, and the biggest difference between Secure File Transfer Protocol (SSH) and File Transfer Protocol Secure (SSL/TLS) is that the latter is able to make use of TLS/SSL certificates issued from a CA in order to transfer data, making it very secure. I always remember the difference like this: HTTPS = HTTP over SSL/TLS, FTPS = FTP over SSL/TLS, LDAPS = LDAP over TLS/SSL. It all is based on where the letter 'S' is placed. SFTP uses Secure Shell as a way of transmitting data, using terminal software such as PuTTY, SecureCRT etc. TFTP on Windows is sometimes blocked, so if you are uploading files to a TFTP server and it is not working, you should definitely try to either disable the firewall completely for a couple of seconds, or explicitly allow rules for UDP port 69, whichever you prefer. Your videos are always excellent, much love.

"Yes, there are two secure variations of FTP: SFTP and FTPS. " -> No. SFTP is not FTP. FTP/S uses SSL authentication with the FTP protocol. Afterwards, the data session is protected with encryption.

I had a question that I didn't know the answer to so I had to google it, just in case anyone needs the answer. The basic difference between HTTP and FTP is that HTTP is used to access different websites on the internet. On the other hand, the FTP is used to transfer files from one host to the another. HTTP establishes data connection only whereas, the FTP establishes data as well as control connection
