The text files used for importing ranges are Pio range files. So, this function is designed to import Pio Solver ranges.

First thanks a lot for this and all of your videos. As many already pointed out, they are extremely helpful. After seeing your Flopzilla Pro and GTO+ videos I am still confused about one thing. It feels as if GTO+ can do everything that Flopzilla Pro does + a lot more. Im not really sure in what cases I would use Flopzilla to study. You say those two can work hand in hand, but why would I construct my ranges in Flopzilla if I can do it in the solver, where I can nodelock and calculate equilibrium strategies? Equity graphs and hotness charts are also in both.

I think that’s a good observation. You can certainly do anything in GTO+ that you can in Flopzilla Pro. I think it’s just a useful tool to work alongside it because it has some extra visualizations and views that complement GTO+ nicely. I like using the interface Flopzilla for range exploration better than GTO+, but both can be used.

Great video, just a quick question! When you switch to multi-player mode, each "player" you add is automatically considered the following position at the poker table without considering blinds? Like in your example at 34:00 you said first range was button and the other was under the gun. I'm not sure I get this part.
@SolverSchool
@SolverSchool 3 жыл бұрын
Apologies, that was probably confusing. Since Flopzilla is not calculating EV at all based on actions, the position order doesn't really matter there. It's only comparing 2 ranges so the order is up to you -- as long as you keep it straight in your own head. :)
@MrBosseidon

Studying one hand to the next in flopzilla, what are takeaways that we should be looking for and internalizing? ie. how often they hit a board well, marginally, poorly, etc.
@SolverSchool
@SolverSchool 4 жыл бұрын
That's a good way to look at it. I'm not sure there's a blanket template for every time you go from board to board. Instead, I usually try to have a purpose in my studies. Flopzilla is great to help visualize the number of combos in ranges and interactively work on your construction skills. So often when using that tool, I'm trying to build out strategies that I can try to realistically implement in-game. That will always be driven from things like a range's equity, nut hand advantage, player profiles, and position, so those questions will be a part of it.

Is there a python api with some of the functionality of flopzilla or equilab? I want to do some statistical analysis of equity distributions over different streets of a hand vs range, but it requires some basic scripting functionality.

Not that I know of sorry. I'm sure you could reach out to the software developer though and they could help give you options.

Great video! I have one question, at minute 28, is it possible to select the suit of the combos on that grid? For example it could be useful to put in our cbetting range only the top pair combos with the backdoor flush draw.
@SolverSchool
@SolverSchool 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Gaetano - yes you can! I talk about that at minute 15. You can use that selector first to filter for the individual suits. They've actually added a ton of additional functionality since I created this video to further customize the ways in which you view and manipulate the ranges.
@gaetanosalvo1609
@gaetanosalvo1609 2 жыл бұрын
@@SolverSchool Hi, thanks for your reply! I think the selector removes the combos from the overall range. So, following my example, if I want to include in my cbetting range only the top pair combos with the backdoor flush draw I can do it only by removing the other combos from the overall range, so I don't have the top pair combos without backdoor flush draw in the checking range. It would be useful if we could select the suits in the filtered grid you show at minute 28.
@SolverSchool
@SolverSchool 2 жыл бұрын
@@gaetanosalvo1609 Got it, I understand now. You can actually add hand classes to the list on the right hand side to do that. So in your case, you'd filter based off top pair and right click to fix that, then hover over the 2 card backdoor fd and right click that as well (Flopzilla has on-screen instructions). That'll fix your filter to include both conditions. Then you can customize from there. Hope that helps!

@@SolverSchool Btw i think the dead card section is very good for studying the effect of blockers/unblockers vs villains range as we can see in conjunction with the stats/custom stats exactly which region of the range is effected . removing cards (our hole cards) is also visulized in the RvsR equity graph. Finding Equilibrium has come up with a method of scoring blockers in their yet to be released GTOx which is interesting.

Michael, I've watched all of your videos and have enjoyed them a lot. When you're talking, you have a habit of using a LOT of ahs and ums. I was a member of toastmasters and would keep track of the number of people using these crutch words when talking. You have blown away a lot of people by having over 100+ ahs and ums in your video. I had to stop counting after 100 because I was running out of room on my paper. So when you're talking, just make a conscious effort to just pause and not rely on your crutch words. It will make your discussions/speeches a lot more polished.
