How to use GeoVic to Find Gold Prospecting Locations

Hey guys, today I thought I’d make a video about one of my favourite nerd-tools ever, an online mapping application called GeoVic!
It’s an extremely valuable tool for gold prospectors, and anyone with an interest in the fascinating gold mining history of Victoria.
This program enables you to build your own maps, search, and access detailed information, tapping into a huge range of data sources.

I used to use this up until the Signal Gold Maps were released. GeoVic looks impressive on screen, but the data is at 100K whereas the Signal maps are between 10-30K and contain WAY more diggings

It’s tricky on phones, definitely best on a tablet or computer.

Thank you for the great guide! I have a question, earthresources.vic.gov.au states that you can "Prospect without consent" in "Crown land other than prohibited Crown land" So... that's clear as mud :/ Can you find "prohibited Crown land" on the Geovic map?
