Hi, Melissa. Hope you're fine. I'm sorry for an unrelated question. But it would be very helpful if you help.. I have many stubborn dark spots from acne. I also do get pus filled small bumps now and then. But my main concern is those dark spots. I'm a student, and nowadays I'm a little tight on budget. I want to know ordinary niacinamide or ordinary salicylic 2 solution(or any other exfoliator) would be helpful for my dark spots. Is using a serum better or exfoliating would be better (as they r very stubborn). Right now, I'm using CeraVe moisturizing lotion, Cosrx salicylic acid cleanser, sometimes ordinary vitamin c powder. Please help me if you can, which product would be better? Thank you in advance... ♥️♥️♥️

Hello 😃 Well the best would be retinol, retinal, or retinoid-or, if not available, a retinol in 0,2 or 0,3% or retinal in 0,05%.

Which one would be good for my concerns? And will retinol really would be better than any exfoliating products and niacinamide for dark spots fading? I've previously used lactic acid, peeling solution, glycolic acid in the last year. And thank you again.... 💗💗

@@agirl3146 Well overall dark spots on the skin, also known as hyperpigmentation, can fade on their own over time, but the process can be slow and may take several months. In general, both retinol and exfoliating acids can be effective in fading dark spots, but they work in different ways and can be better suited for different skin types and concerns. Retinol can be beneficial for those with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or fine lines and wrinkles, while exfoliating acids can be better suited for those with sun damage or age spots.
