hi, i noticed that recently many people have been talking about how gpt 4 became worse, that it got "dumbed down" or "nerfed", that it keeps acting strange or refusing to answer most prompts and that you shouldnt waste your money on it, etc. so i wanted to ask, is it still worth it? i mostly just wanted to use it for help with writing essays since chatgpt 3.5 doesnt really do a great job with that but now im kind of unsure.

I just bought it and it won't write you anything more than 500 words, even after getting past all the academic integrity stuff. I managed to cut it into pieces yet after 1000 words it always ran into error at the same point.

They removed the browse the internet. I recommend schoolarai and science for purposes like the ones in this video. Check every citing though, sometimes it still alucinantes the sources, but when pointed out it corrects it, or a Google academic search with the false results can lead you into the right direction. Good luck!

They removed the feature, however, you can install plugins for browsing the web. Checkout the plugin area of chatGPT
