Hi, thank you for the video. I have problem on my power sensor monitoring, it show 0 watt on board power draw, GPU chip power draw, PCIe slot power&voltage, 8pin and also the power consumpotion (%tdp) show 0 watt. I also already done the monitoring test on afterburner an it's the same, 0.0 watt power consumption. It happen after i try to take of my gpu and switch into igpu, then re-installing my gpu again. i already done the cleaning driver with DDU and reinstall the new version driver but that didnt work. a also already done reinstalling windows and didnt solve the problem. Have you ever encountered a similar problem sir?

What stuff should I look out for to ensure the longevity of my GPU? I reckon the GPU temperature is an easy tell if it gets too high but is there anything else? Is there a video or any resources I can see to find out more about this?

I would mainly pay attention to the GPU temperature and make sure you keep your GPU driver up to date. If your GPU is running hot, a case with better air flow can help. You also want to make sure your case fans are pointed in the correct direction. That usually means intake fans in the front of the case and exhaust fans on the top and rear of the case.

I have 1 issue and 1 question if you have time to help me out. My specs are: Windows 10 64bit Dell oem GeForce GTX 1660ti I installed in my new system. It has latest drivers from Nvidia CPU is I7 10700f Motherboard is Gigabyte z590 UD AC The issue is that when I ran the GPU Z render test for 3 minutes my Perfcap reason stayed reporting Idle although all other info on GPU Z showed the card working as expected and utilization around 97% Is this an issue to worry over or fix?? My other question is that during render test my GPU temp went to low 70s and hot spot showed 80-86c The card is 4 yrs old, was used in a lot of gaming and has been kept relatively dust free. Should I attempt to re-paste the heat sink on the card?? I have not seen any issues when gaming other that an occasional longer than expected loading time when switching dungeons/game areas... Thank you in advance for any help you can provide, sir!

It is more likely that the PCIe slot your GPU is in is limited to x4 for some reason. It could be the slot itself, your BIOS settings, your motherboard, or your CPU. You should read your motherboard manual to help figure out what is going on.

It is more likely to be power management on your PC, reducing the PCIe slot voltage.

Hi Glenn, thank you for the video, it helped a lot. Second, I have a question which I hope you can answer. I recently bought a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD and RTX 3070. I downloaded Cyberpunk 2077 to be specific and after playing for about 10 minutes I got a very sudden FPS drop from 70 FPS to around 10-15 and the GPU wattage fell from 130 watts to 30-35 watts. This lasted for about 2 minutes. It's happened several times seemingly at random, but I'm not sure. The same thing happened with Elden Ring and Arma 3 after some playing. The temperature of the CPU and GPU were in the norms at the times of the stuttering being 80-85 and 75-78 respectively, so I don't think it's the temperature problem. All my drivers are up to date and my BIOS as well. The laptop is elevated and the fans are clear of obstruction. I have watched several videos of these games being played by other people with the same specs as me and they don't seem to be having any issues. Do you think you could help me out? I can't figure out what could be wrong. Thank you.

Well, a CPU temp of 80-85 and a GPU temp of 70-75 is a little on the hot side. There is less you can do about it with a laptop, but most gaming laptops have different performance profiles that let you trade off more fan noise for lower temperatures while you are gaming. I would see if you have anything like that available.

The issue is that other people with the same laptop on benchmarks and reviews on KZbin get the same temps, but don't have the 1-2 minute sudden fps drops. Once the stuttering finishes everything is back to normal again. I'm worried that it might be a hardware issue. Would you care to guess at what it might be? Thank you.

I don't think your GPU BIOS version or whether you can find it in GPU-Z has anything to do with your disk being at 100% or your computer freezing.

This tool can't help you very much with that. It will show the model number and when it was released, so you can figure out how old it is. You could probably figure out if it was still under warranty with that information.

Do you mean the old video drivers? Both NVIDIA and AMD will automatically take care of that when you install new drivers. Otherwise, you can go to Add/Remove programs, and uninstall them yourself.

Why is your video card running @ x8 3.0?

Two reasons. First, it is an RTX 2080 Super, which is PCIe 3.0. Second, my motherboard is a Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master, that has three M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots connected to the CPU (not the B550 chipset). When you populate more than one of those M.2 slots, the primary PCIe slot goes from x16 down to x8.

In the current GPU market, that is not a bad price. If it is coming from Russia, it was probably used for mining, which might reduce it's longevity.

Are you talking about the checkboxes at the bottom of the Graphics Card tab (such as OpenCL and CUDA)? If so, that is by design. GPU-Z just reads what features your GPU supports. It won't let you change them.
