Thanks - first time trying it, will need to make a couple of modifications but overall think it has much better potential compared with the old one

Stemome for me smells exactly like figs when you pull it out of the fig tree and you smell it before being very ripe. And it's definitely one of my fav. The only problem, it doesn't last very long. I also love petitgrain

You can make an easy fig accord with just stemone, gamma octalactone and ethyl maltol
@drunkenmaster5 ай бұрын
@@grundle69mcswag19 so gamma octalactone and stemone. More of the first, less of the second? With a hint of ethyl maltol
@dennispientak2 ай бұрын
@@drunkenmasteryou don't have to add the ethyl maltol, it will just make it a bit sweeter so it will smell more like fig fruit rather than fig leaf or the skin/stem of the fig. Balance it the way you like. Also j.c.e. describes using Hedione and Iso E in large amounts for his fig accord. You can also substitute gamma octalactone with aldehyde coconut or methyl laitone, latter one will make it a bit creamier I feel, the one before more aldehydic.

I love Stemone as well. It can give such a nice natural feel in most things in small amounts but I’ve also been using it kinda overdosed in a chypre composition lately. Great video as always

Great video Sam, as always! Congratulations for your new setup, it took me so long too to set up mine :) Studio lighting takes all the place, it is what influences the most, according to me, the image quality.

Most men's colognes that are mass-produced have very HEAVY and STRONG smells which make them not pleasant to wear daily and it seems most men avoid wearing them altogether (I live in the U.S. Maybe it's different in Europe.) What are the ingredients that make them like this? And do you try to avoid them when you make men's fragrances?
@kevinmckernan27535 ай бұрын
maybe you are referring to the Super Ambers. Norlimbanol, Ambrocenide and the like
@3dgoes2d5 ай бұрын
i guess, the problem with those colognes is that they are made with consideration that man smell bad and need something that smells stronger than their swet. Like, I have norlimbanol (deep woody smell with chocolate obertones), timberol (oud smell) and spirambren (patchouli) and in 5% concentration they all smell almost the same and they all smell like an average male cologne, but if you use them in concentrations

Hello! I’m basically brand new to perfumery, as I’m mainly getting into it to make a gift. Do you have any recommendations as to what scents to use to make a vanilla perfume? Something that would remind you of walking next to a Paris bakery. Thank you!

Your videos are very informative! Thanks a lot! Just one advice, the sound quality is very bad. Would be easy solution to use lav microphone. Especially in the room with empty walls. You might also Change the quality of sound in post production. But any mic close to your mouth will do the job.

What’s the difference between patchouli EO and patchouli light EO. Is one of them better in heart and another better for base note or what’s the difference?

@sammacer5 ай бұрын
I really like isocyclocitral and I would put it in a similar category to phenylacetaldehyde - I decided to put the latter in the video since it's more "classic"
