I am using a horizontal weeks for meal planning, and using the open grid on the right for my running shopping list. This is in my TN as part of my everyday planner so that I always have my shopping list with me. Helps me so much. I do have a chalkboard on the wall in my kitchen that I put the dinner plan on for the whole week.

Sounds like we have a very similar approach except instead of a chalkboard, we have a dry erase board on our fridge! I like that I can still keep my Weeks together with my TN.

Hi Alison, perfectly timed video 🎉 I was so ill last year; on top of dealing with MS I found that peri-menopause symptoms were unusual and affecting my MS and stomach in such a bad way. I am started to feel better so I had been rewatching your previous videos on using the Weeks book for health & meal planning. I’m now going over my notes - trying to get ahead of my health challenges so I have a system in place to support healthy eating when I am struggling. I also want to be able to monitor health symptoms along with healthy habits for light exercises and eating healthy meal/snacks. Thanks again for another great video. Varsha 🎉🫶🏽🙌🏾🙏🏽🙏🏽🥰🤗

Hi Varsha, it sounds like you’ve been managing a lot over the last while. 💓 I’m glad that you’re finding my previous videos helpful and that you’re in a place where you feel ready to incorporate some symptom monitoring, health and meal planning. Let me know if you have any additional questions as you go over your notes! 💗

Great ideas. And thanks for acknowledging your need to compartmentalize tasks. I do the same thing. 😊

Thank you! Yes, I think I need to remind myself of this constantly because there’s a part of me that has idealized an “all-in-one” system for simplicity, but I know from past experience that doesn’t actually work for me. 😅

I also saved the meal cards from the years of meal kits, and it's definitely a go-to binder for meal planning ideas. I also use a meal matrix, basically a chart with 10 categories, each category having 4-6 meal ideas. I can quickly plan out 2 weeks of dinners (5 days each), by selecting one meal per category. I actually do a month at a time now. One category includes "new recipe" which encourages me to keep trying something new. I use a Sterling Ink N2 (Weeks equiv.) and have my meal matrix in the back. Then I make up a list of meals for each week. Makes meal planning so much faster now!

Those meal cards were a game changer for me! I love how efficient and flexible your meal matrix sounds! At one point, we tried to eat the same things every day (eg pizza on Fridays, stir fry on Tuesday), but that was too rigid for me and I couldn’t stick with it. Thank you for sharing your approach! 🤩

@@LittleCocoStudio I require flexibility and versatility - I can't eat the same thing every day. I like that the meal matrix concepts gives me a great variety of meals (with the option to try something new regularly) but also cutting down the time it takes to meal plan!

This was so helpful! Meal planning is such a struggle in my household. Next year I am using a weeks mega to meal plan as well! I recently saw a nutritionist and he wants me to keep a food log, so I'm going to be using the note pages to keep detailed descriptions of my meals. I'm also setting up one of those thin supplement notebooks with local seasonal notes, and fave recipes so I can keep it across multiple years.

I’m so glad you found this helpful! Meal planning was one of our biggest stressors and woke occasionally cause arguments due to poor planning, over spending, and spoiled food. I never saw myself as a meal planner, but it really has been a life-changing habit for us! I LOVE the idea of putting favourite recipes in the supplement notebooks - that would make it much easier to move them between different years! Thank you for sharing! 😍

Meal planning has always felt impossible to me, but you're entirely responsible in helping me wrap my head around it and make it feel possible... and then going the extra mile to buy a Weeks Mega (in yummy yummy Pistachio, very on theme!) for next year. I even found a Weeks with some blank pages that I'll be putting to use for meal planning and health tracking over the next month or two. (: Thank you for the ideas and leading by example, it honestly makes such a big difference to me when info around organizing comes from someone else who experiences and understands ADHD on a personal level!

I live in the country. I have an app on my phone for grocery lists. That way I have it anytime I’m in town.

@@anne-marie5197 ooh, that’s a good approach! And i imagine you’d always have a list to work off of when you’re planning a new grocery shop. :)

you really inspired me to up my meal planning game the last few months. i still use the tiny nolty planner but been trying to brainstorm actual dinner plans while i'm making my shopping list instead of just buying without a plan. in the back, i have a couple lists of things i typically buy at specialty grocery stores that i don't go to that often, helps me not forget stuff.

I’m so glad to hear that! I think I keep talking about meal planning because I’m still a bit amazed that go with the flow person when it comes to meals has been planning consistently for the past 2 years. I think having lists to refer to has been really helpful for getting started, and I love the approach of having speciality grocery store lists as well. I need to visit my specialty stores soon. I’ve been trying to get yellow noodles (the fresh ones that I like to stir fry with) for months, but I keep shopping at grocery stores that don’t stock them. 😅

Hi Alison, Thank you for another great and inspirational video! Now that you’ve had and used the Twinkle Tweed cover for a while, would you recommend it? I’ve Ben thinking of this cover since last year 😅 I love it, but it seems very fragile. Hobonichi don’t recommend the plastic cover on cover for the Twinkle Tweed… Do you baby it? Are you still loving it? 🧚🏽‍♂️💚🩵
@LittleCocoStudio
@LittleCocoStudio Ай бұрын
Thank you! I still love the Twinkle Tweed! 🥹✨I don’t exactly baby it, but I rarely take it out of house. I love the texture, so I don’t use a cover on cover with it. The only thing I would change is I’d add the external pocket like the other covers have. I find it’s less bulky and easier to slid a pen in the butterfly loops if I store my weekly supplement in the back pocket of a cover as opposed to inside the main cover like I have to do with the twinkle tweed! I hope that helps. Let me know I you have any other questions. 🥰
