love your videos. What type of bareback pad do you recommend or use? I have an aging horse that I trust and want to ride bareback basically only walking her so she can build her muscles up as she hasn't been ridden in about 4 years because of my health

I watched this twice. Once I watched and listened and the second time I only watched your hands. I find when I'm riding and it's not going well, my hands are far too active. What about using an aid on the trails?

Hi Rebecca! As I always say "busy feet and busy mouth means busy mind" in our horses. Same goes for people except busy extremities, like hands, means your over-thinking when you should be "feeling." Holding the whip is also about position. You are only seeing a clip/snippet of the full length which gets into detail re the way I show it and help you learn how to use it simply, easily. In regards to taking one with you on the trail, the trail is no place for training. I believe the trail ride should be an enjoyable experience for both rider and horse where relaxation and calm and communing with nature together is paramount. You shouldn't need a whip unless you want to keep other horses away.
