Here's how you can use play dough for speech therapy at home:
*Target:* Articulation, vocabulary building, sentence formation
*What you'll need:* Play dough, cookie cutters (various shapes), small toys (animals, vehicles)
*Activity:*
1. *Make different shapes:* Have your child identify the shapes you make with the cookie cutters (circle, square, star, etc.). Encourage them to use these words in sentences like "I want the circle cookie cutter."
2. *Let them create!:* Let your child create their own shapes or animals with the dough. Ask them to name what they made and describe it using full sentences. "I made a snake. It's long and green."
3. *Pretend play:* Incorporate small toys into the play dough fun. Let your child build a zoo for their animals or a farm with fences (made of dough snakes). Encourage them to use action verbs and animal sounds during playtime.
*Remember:* Keep it fun and engaging! Make silly sounds, sing songs, and narrate your actions throughout the playtime.
