I think Polaroid will eventually have to incorporate a reusable battery pack into their cartridges because the batteries are SO wasteful! Thank you for showing this

UPDATE ALERT: IT WORKED!!! First try! All I had to do was just use a bit more pressure to get it in, and it went in snugly. Thanks so much for being one of very few videos on KZbin which cover this. Helped me big time. Now I've got some i-type black and white in a old 670AF 😎

Hell yeah man! yea its a little snug and you gotta be careful with that metal tab in the middle tho the older sx-70 cameras both SLR and onestep cams don't have it

I feel like I owe a huge thank you for this LOL Thanks to this video I was able to shoot a ton of discounted iType film I got from a thrift store thru my impulse AF and it works like a dream! Much much appreciated 📸

Works! Purchased some i type camera film and followed the directions on the video. I taped the edges tightly and with a firmer push (since the i type film is rather triangular rather than evenly flat) i took a picture and came out great 👍 thank you so much!

Thank you so much for this video! I've been looking everywhere for that "bwiiii" sound at 8:56, so nostalgic :) everyone puts music over their videos so it's hard to hear it!

Just did it and it worked!! It's awesome beacause the battery from my last cartridge was still working and it would´ve been bonkers to just throw it away. Also, the i-type film it's cheaper than the regular 600 film 😅

You should be able to recharge the battery with a 2S hobby charger too. Just have to figure out if it's Lithium-polymer, or Lithium-ion, and what the polarity of the contacts is.

I think I looked it up once tho it was something odd
@SuperFrodo952 жыл бұрын
@@FoxintoshPlus They will be positive and negative. But if you want to take battery safety serious you'd need to have a positive connection for each battery in order to balance the voltage between both cells. It would probably be easier to mod the camera to have its own internal battery at that point.

Thanks a lot! I'm a fan of these fancy frames like rainbow squares and black frame, which do not exist for Polaroid 600. I will definitely use it when my Polaroid will arrive. Do you have any recommendations on how many i-type cartridges you an use with every 600 battery? Thanks!
@FoxintoshPlus2 жыл бұрын
Awww np, bud! and I'm honestly not too sure, my one fear has always been the battery will die halfway through a pack. I do have test cartilage I've been using for a while, I'd suggest perhaps the battery is good for 3 uses (1st time being used normally with a 600 film) and the other 2 times when it's taped to the battery. anything beyond is risky I'll have to stress test one someday
@therestorationofdrwho18652 жыл бұрын
How do you think SX-70 shooters feel 😂😂 we get no special editions at all, nothing. 600 gets tons.
@qamil94602 жыл бұрын
@@FoxintoshPlus Thanks! I will try it when I will get my one. But you're right, that's really scary.

Soooo... How many i-type cartridges you can use for a single battery ? That's just a great tuto, thanks !!
@Tysxno Жыл бұрын
How long does the battery last? and could you just put the itype film into the 600 cartridge?

Any idea if this works on the polaroid impulse? It uses 600 film but Im not sure if the slot is the same

it is possible to use the fuji method on this camera but the newer films directly from polaroid will not work. My other video shows the fuji method kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3K3YaV8jM-Cb7c

May have paid off to have saved all those cartridges like I have 😂😂 only problem is I use an SX-70 camera, so I’ll need a filter too. If you’re careful and tidy with how you attach the battery, it does seem doable obviously. Definitely not recommended for younger people to do, messing about with the battery like that and all. I could last off of I-type film for ages with this method, you can find this film even cheaper if it’s slightly expired or a bit older so that helps too.
@FoxintoshPlus2 жыл бұрын
Haha that’s exactly what I do! I find cheap itype film new or expired (I highly enjoy the metallic nights one) and I have recently ordered those ND filters to use my sonor Polaroid :) I do plan on making some dedicated Polaroid videos once I complete my main video project 👀

Ancient! That one is only from like 1997.
@FoxintoshPlus2 жыл бұрын
Really? I honestly thought it was older, its hard to find the model years for polaroid stuff for some reason
@NumaticVacuum2 жыл бұрын
@@FoxintoshPlus The design of this camera does date back to about 1981, which is probably why, lol.

Its from 1998. Its called a onestep close up.

It has a macro lens built into it, that feature doesnt work all that well but the 90s polaroids are still better than the 80s
