What you are describing sounds like "b-roll". Simply upload the photo from your "photos" app to iMovie. use the "arrows" setting and you can adjust the image however you need to on the screen as a second layer on top of your video

70 yr old making educational videos on iPhone with I movie. Ken burns effect is sometimes good. Can’t find where to turn it off for certain clips. Don’t learn very easily from videos, but you are helpful. Do I have to buy a new computer? Mine won’t even do I Movie.

It's definitely harder on older computers. you can shut it off in the settings by tapping on it

When I push « transfert » button : « Some of your videos are beeing charged from the cloud… and I wait, and I can see properly my video on iMovie… but blocked ! Hi! It sounds like you somehow delete video clip(s) in the "photos" app before finishing your video edit. Make sure all of your clips you are using to make the video stay in your photos app while you work on your video all the way until when you're done

I’m assuming you mean as the 2nd layer on top of the main video portion?? If so, technically yes I believe you can upload pdf’s but it’s going to be a headache of a process. To be completely honest I wouldnt try that with a phone. My recommendation would be to take a screenshot of the pdf you are trying to use and crop out what you don’t want on it. From there, upload the pdf screenshot as a photo to your project

This is harder to do but find the "Detach Audio" setting and you can bring that out into your view. Keep in mind though, you will be separating it from the video clip so make sure you don't move it a lot. It'll make you pull your hair out on iphone because it can be touchy

I haven’t heard of that yet…the normal thought process that I would have is the phone is having trouble loading your project due to having a lot of memory, you have a lot of apps open and need to close them, etc… If all else fails, save what you have into your photos app, turn your phone battery off and back on and see if that may help. If that doesn’t work, delete the app and reinstall it

Trimming music works the same as trimming your video clips. Add it into the timeline and from there you can tap and hold the ends and drag it to the desired spot. OR find the "scissors" tool and cut it at the section you need it cut at

The text editing options that you claim will appear after a double click on the text, or the ones that appear on the bottom bar, simply do not appear for me at all. From what I can tell, iMovie blows.

Click on the photo so it highlights yellow. On the right side next to the “help” question mark, below that there’s a 4 direction arrows symbol. Tap that, it should say “drag to position, pinch to resize” use one finger to drag that around the screen, use two fingers to make your photo smaller or bigger
