Premiere is next level, is what I primarily use. You’ll start hitting barriers with iMovie. That’s when you’ll switch. Davinci Resolve is a free alternative to Premiere.

thanks for your tips. I learned how to make a cutaway image on my iPhone from the photos I have taken. These don’t seam to have invisible backgrounds like in other png images. Am I doing something wrong ? It sure would be cool to add them to some of my videos.

You can do this by grabbing any green screen clips off KZbin and applying the green screen effect to the clip in iMovie

Hey there - you’ll need to remove the white background prior to importing it into iMovie. There is a free tool you can do this with called Kapwing. www.kapwing.com/?via=brian

The image was a png file type which has a transparent background. See if you’re able to format it prior to bringing it into iMovie.

Zeus, is there a way for me to; create a slideshow of photos (I know how to do that ) then record the video of the slideshow ( also know how to do that ) then get this small clip and insert in my iMovie that I pre record with me speaking but leave my audio intact, basically my idea is without much work to insert some pictures of me during my recovery while I am still speaking , I need to do a video this weekend for my work, inspired by my story , we are doing a campaign of 30 days for Gilda Radner club, I had brain cancer and i will be telling my story but want to remove the video of me talking and insert the slideshow recorded of recovery only during a small part of my speech
