Another good one Dan. Many thanks as always. Practicing non attachment to "certain" thoughts. It's not necessarily the thoughts per se, but our attachment & belief in certain ones being absolutely true with no possible alternative that can be the thing that we get caught up in...the information & learning you offer, helps to teach the brain there are alternatives. Many loving blessings sent to you & all on this path.Xxx

Indifference to the symptoms : yes. Indifference to the thoughts: yes. Indifference to emotions and feelings : no! Because they can indicate me what area is suppressed or needs to be released.. Not dwelling or ruminating on them, just reflecting and learning lessons. Thanks for the early morning inspiration Dan❤

I do recommend we allow ourselves to feel the emotions, just not judge ourselves harshly for having them.

Do what? When we allow ourselves to feel an emotion and not ruminate on a story, it releases in its own. What do you DO with your emotions?

@@PainFreeYou i look if they are reoccurring if I can connect the dots with a belief- pattern from my past.. sometimes one can feel sad for seemingly no reason but when I reflect a little deeper, I find that reason.. and then I tell myself:okay it stems from an old belief about myself that is not longer helpful and let it go.. just saying whatever if an emotion pops up doesn’t work for me.. emotions in my belief are fed / based on past experiences and acknowledging that is important to me. It’s okay if you disagree Dan, it’s not the truth just my view on it..

@@PainFreeYoufor me it’s really helpful to see that pattern in my emotions.. the more I see it , the less it triggers me and THEN I can be indifferent towards it and say whatever..

Thank you for always keeping it simple. People change their lifestyles, diets, EVERYTHING, when there's nothing wrong. I just honor the basics and it reduces stress. Eat when hungry, rest when tired, excercise and sleep. Tough day, take a break. ❤

Dan, Dr Howard Schubiner, an expert in this field , recommends emotional work, if required. Now it may not be for everyone but we must keep an ‘open mind’ We all heal differently. I do believe that indifference is definitely good for our negative thoughts, etc. Have a good day. How is Finn ? 🐈‍⬛

in the nearly 3 weeks since I came across your first video on January 7th 2024 I can say alot of what you teach has helped me alot. I am more aware of how stress, catastrophizing, anxiety and PDP is the source of my back pain symptoms. While the pain is not gone, I do feel it lessen as I gain understanding of how PDP and stress amplify the symptoms. Practicing feelings of safety has helped and I am getting better. Practicing indifference and patience with the process is difficult but as I practice it daily I believe it will get easier. Re-teaching the brain to react differently after a decade of severe anxiety, panic attacks and depression will take practice and patience. Thanks for what you do Dan. After suffering with back pain the last year your information, coaching and guidance has been very helpful. Practicing feeling safety, reducing fear, worry & anxiety and learning to be indifference to my symptoms of is the key to my healing. Its It's a challenge but I am feeling progress even if it's slow. Thank you🙏

Hi.. it’s me😂 I developed a chronic cough as almost an anxiety symptom because then I wheeze and can’t breathe but I can calm myself down and it goes away. Once I realized I was ok and not developing asthma I can get it to stop if it flares up

In 12 step groups they talk about detatchment with love. To begin with it's hard to understand but eventually it became to mean caring but not taking a deep dive into whatever trauma was going on. Would you say this is similar to the indifference you teach? I do find that the 'indifference' is really helping, but I also care about my body and my health, so I have to reassure myself too - just like I do to my grandkids!

When i feel ready to recover the symptoms skyrocket. I don't know why.. Im learning about healing from generalized anxiety disorder and the teaching is the same, accepting and letting go. The thing is sometimes it's the symptoms of anxiety sometimes it's pain and bodily uncomfortable sensations. I don't know what to really do. Sciatica pain goes down to my Achilles and gives me Dizziness, that's what i can't explain to myself medically. How can get rid of this ? Thanks

I have been being indifferent to my heartrate. For some reason at times mine loves to go up. I do not know how or why anyone would want to wear a fibit and I think they are not good for anyone. Just another gadget trying to get people obsessed with their bodily functions.

Have you ever considered that these videos will unintentionally lead someone to believe they're more fearful than normal, and therefore think something is wrong with them as a result? I felt like this when I was a daily listener and stopped because of it. Obviously, I know that is not your intention, but sometimes more harm than good can come from telling someone they're afraid of their pain. What about the people that really do need to make physical lifestyle changes? I've seen older folks who have sat around their whole lives and they are much less capable than those who have a balanced lifestyle. We know people who go to the gym and try to lift 250+ pounds on bench press can have mobility issues for the rest of their lives as a result of the twists that occur in connective fibers of the joints to produce force. When this happens and a nerve is compressed, YES, of course people will have long lasting pain. There's a consistent force being applied on a very delicate structure over long periods. Moving on, I've also seen many hairdressers with upper body nerve compression which is clearly a result of having their arms held in an unnatural position for 8 hours a day. To think that's not going to result in chronic pain is ludicrous. All in all, to speak with such conviction all the time that long term pain isn't a physical issue can be damaging when no one can be 100% sure with some basic evaluation on your website. I'm not saying the medical system is the solution as most specialists are trying to make a quick buck, but we really need to look at this from the bigger picture. I only say this as I tried everything for TOS and until I finally addressed my lifestyle with a balanced exercise routine I did not improve. Perhaps there are others out there like me that will not benefit from being told they are afraid, but instead that they're brave and to stay focused.
