Thanks for sharing this video! Like your video so much👍 I used to have an issue with heat loss in my home. Then, I bought Infiray T2S+ thermal camera. I think that it's also a great device to find all the heat loss points in the house. The imaging is quite good for such an affordable price.

Consider Shortwave infrared (SWIR) imaging. Google " SWIR camera and human muscle" . The AI summary should tell you enough to eval if this is a direction for you to go in.

Bought one of these recently to check the insulation of my farmhouse that we recently moved into. You can see a lot when it is warm inside and freezing outside. My only issue is the emissivity setting. There are different numbers for various surfaces. I'm not sure what to use on old glass windows.

Cool! I was thinking about how to convert heat loss to energy loss (GJ). Do you have any ideas? I was thinking about estimating the U-value of my house by using thermal imaging and also working on the Plank Law. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

Theoretically yes, best would be to try to find them at the end of their sleep cycle when the nest is toasty.

Probably because they turn off and on. And that doesn't translate to being hot then being cool. They stay about the same temperature all the time. They don't have time to cool enough to be noticed by the IR

I’m actually really into these Hikmicro cameras lately. Their phone- style unit is same price as the FLIR C5, but 2 1/2 times more sensors.

You need to get rid of MSX when scanning it masks too much. Then tighten up that level (from what I could tell the span was ok). Finally never, ever, ever say you’re looking at the temperature since this type of thermography is only qualitative. I could go into the multiple reasons for this but unless you’re using some thermocouples and or thermistors (ideally) don’t mention anything about temps. Just my 0.02$.
