Now that is hard core fishing. Well done. I am willing to bet that the people living in those houses around the lake, do not do ice fishing.

No, I'm the only owner who does when there is actually ice on the pond.

I would love to spend the day fishing with you guys. I have been a chef for thirty years and can make a great shore lunch

I would like to get out with all sort of people who watch but it just isn't always possible. Where are you located around. Do you ice fish? I'm not a fishing guide though. I know some people think I am. Just a hobbyist getting out and having fun.

I bought my first Jawjacker and Jigging Base this year and that snap the rod makes when it sets is addicting!

Thank you for showing how when the fishes mood changes they can go for the jigging jaw jackers. I was out Brook trout fishing today and caught 5 jigging and 1 and the dead stick. I might try out a jigging jaw jacker for days like today.
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures

Yeah for sure, especially brook trout they seem to have a fascination with things moving. They are very attracted to flashy moving things so the jigging jaw jacker would probably be very productive on the brook trout.

Did some white fish ice fishing in Alberta just as much fun as throwing out the rod in summer you only need to keep warm so you are comfortable it is not fun being cold because you will lose interest and leave too soon! Lovely thanks
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, yeah whitefish fishing can be entertaining if site fishing. I always try to dress for the conditions, but being cold has never stopped me. I'm a little crazy that way though. Think I froze my fingers a bit on the last pike video up in northern Alberta. Having a bit harder time handling the cold on the hands after that. Might have done myself in.

I'm too scared to fish on even four inches of ice... Try a bobber setup in that open water spot so that your line doesn't get frayed and caught up in the ice. It's great seeing the underwater footage you an learn so much from it.
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures 6 жыл бұрын
Oh man 4 inches and we can drive the quad or snowmachine on. No way a person is going through four inches of clear ice. Our ice fishing is over bow for here it's been raining and warm so no strength to the ice any more. Go right through just stepping on it now. Glad you like the underwater stuff. I have some good stuff hanging flies below the cameras when the pond was open water before the freeze. Have to edit that.

I'd say most days of trout fishing that silly Jaw Jacker kicks my ass HAHAHAHA It's good though because i can have a set line and don't have to worry about the fish swallowing the bait or feeling tension and spitting the hook. Should always have at least one set line ice fishing anyway.
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I agree for sure! I was disappointed moving here to BC because you're only allowed one line through the ice. I'd really like to see that changed to 2. If you're alone in a boat in the summer you're allowed two lines. I see this as discriminatory as not everyone owns a boat. Why just because you're on a boat you get two lines while the guys shore casting or ice fishing only gets one line.

What are the lengths of rods you use for the JawJacker? Do you go with the recommended or go with your gut?
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures 5 жыл бұрын
I have some of the Jaw Jacker Rods that I use. Most of the rods I use are between 28 to 30 inches long. If I use it for pike of lake trout I use the longer rods.

I cook some fish up as well, i actually keep plenty to eat. I have a few videos prepping fish. I'll have to actually do a catch and cook though maybe right on the ice.
