When calibre transfers files to my kindle it has what appears to be the calibre id number after the title. So it will look something like Book Title (403). Is there any way to get rid of that?
@svartling9 күн бұрын
Not what I know of no. It’s a identification code that helps with progress sync between devices running KOReader. It’s not visible in the meta data so you don’t see that in the book listing.

@@svartling Thats odd, it still shows up for me in the koreader browser. From what I read online it's so that calibre can assisgn a different ID to each book. It's also the way calibre names the folders for the books on my desktop. Perhaps its because i'm using the portable edition?

I get those numbers too but they are not visible in the file manager unless I don’t long press on the file.

Check under Calibre "Preferences" >>> "Sending Books to Device" Look at the template that is being used, and if you see "id" remove that.

You mentioned that we should have a separate library between KOReader and Kobo UI, Can you explain why? or point me to the documentation from KOReader where this is mentioned. I am new to KOReader but have been using just one library, and switch between Kobo UI reader and KOReader, and haven't had any issues with reading my books. Your recommendation will force us to have twice the storage used in the device, if we want to use both reader apps. Thx and your videos are great.

Because they uses their own meta data storage and there is a potential risk to destroy the meta data for one or the other. And mobile read forums is where I’ve learned that.

Can you make a video on how to set up the "in book" UI? For example, what the bottom bar info means, how to jump chapters, etc? And gestures/tap setup.

I have plenty of videos with that already. Check the KOReader playlist. But thanks for the tip. Maybe I will do a video specifically what you wrote.

Thank you for the video. I just got a Kindle Colorsoft and now have a couple of spare Kindles that I would like to use to experiment with jailbreak and these kind of apps. What is your opinion on color e-readers btw?

Here is what I think: Watch this before buying a Color ebook reader (e-reader)! kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJK6n3WDq8l-fpI

Your videos are awesome Stefan. Please don't stop making them! But the automatic dubbing of your youtube video to German is nothing else but annoying!
