Thank you so much for sharing this tip and idea. I will be incorporating this technique in my custom builds in the future. This is the main reason I am subscribed!

I know this is an old vid but hoping you see and answer this. When you drilled through the tip piece to make it easier to align your magnets, it left a hole through the tip piece. 1)What did you do to cover and hide the visible hole? Fabric? Or if going for all wood look, fill it with wood putty? 2) if the magnet is 1/16", how thick is that MDF? 1/8"?

How much does the upholstery and any pad interfere with the ability of the magnets? Or does it at all? Always great content. Thanks.

Can you explain the basic principles of magnetic interlocking fasteners to a semi-layman? I get the simple idea behind it but could you explain it in a bit more detail? I just recently discovered this type of assembly and I'm very curious. I tried looking up "how do magnetic interlocking fasteners work?" But only got companies displaying their products. No actual explanation. I'd appreciate ya'll enlightening me. Thank you!

You could save yourself a lot of time checking the depth my marking the depth on the side of the drill bit with a fine-liner felt pen..
