Its crazy how much time a thought goes into hiding things and the less stuff you see the more work it is!! Lol looks bada$$ tho very clean. Looking forward to seeing it all covered and finished out!

Will the panels held together by the magnets move or flap with heavy bass? If the panel is directly on the speaker box Thanks.

You do amazing work!! Have you ever used different material for the false floor/beauty panels to try and keep weight down. I noticed you use a lot of heavy material. Ive made a few false floors and found teak to be a nice material to use, its light, strong, it cuts and routers well, it is fairly inexpensive, readily available, and can be used as a finished product when stained or poly'd. I use a 5/16 sanded teak plywood for floors and panels, and teak boards for any type of braces and trim. I took out a 100lb MDF false floor and replaced it with a 10lb teak false floor that was stronger, more durable, doesn't chip from screws, wont swell when in contact with water, and will last for ever.

dude, you are seriously amazing and an inspiration. as soon as my big day happens (my wedding), I will be starting my build. it will be a simple build at first but it will transform into hopefully something more like this when i get the chance. You are freaking awesome Mark!

Could do with some more support for the beauty panel......especially nearest to the boot/trunk opening as its looks like the nearest support bracer is a good 12” inwards, so if I put a car battery just inside the boot/trunk ( let’s face it you wouldn’t want to put it any further in as it is bloody heavy) it will bow/bend or break the panel.

With such a small amount of the CA glue actually being exposed to the activator how much time do you give for the rest of the glue to be catalized (right word?) by the activator before actually using the magnets to do there thing? Those are going to look awesome when completed Mark, definitely tuned in for the finishing of this project

excuse me if i misunderstood but wouldn't a panel like that rattle a lot when the bass is playing?

thats exactly what i was thinking. i was thinking to prevent that put some sound detoner in between the panels or something

Mark what type of industrial Velcro (link??please) do you use for attaching the Secondskin's Mass Loaded Vinyl/closed cell foam to the sheet metal of your car doors etc? I can't find a link anywhere in your list of tools and materials. I understand from Sound Deadenr Showdown that the Velcro brand/version is very important for adhering thr MLV to sheet metal. Many thanks!

I'm at the same point in my install and I'm worried about the two panels rattling. How do you deal with this using the magnets? I feel like that top cover is going to vibrate between the magnets and make a terrible sound.
@CarAudioFabrication6 жыл бұрын
You guys underestimate the strength of these magnets, they have a pretty strong pull. They are a higher grade than what you would buy over the shelf at some random store. If it rattles I will decouple with closed cell foam or cloth tesa tape, but it wont.

I have a question. I have a 2018 Honda Accord.....it has a 10 (crappy speakers) system....one of which is a so called woofer. It is a 450 watt system. Can I just replace the sub in the back dash with a better one for a lot better base?.....I would appreciate your guidance.

hello i have a question but i cant find it anywhere. so i want to get a subwoofer for my van. (mercedes vito 111cdi) i have about 2 m3 on space. what is the best subwoofer in this case and how much power does it need to have? i mostly listen to rap and dance music. so a ported one would do. and i was thinking of a single 12 inch woofer with 750 watt rms. or should i get two 12 inch woofers with 1000 watt rms? hope someone can help me. thanks in advance

Don't the beauty panels vibrate?
@markwentz83326 жыл бұрын
i would imagine the carpet that is wrapped around into the rabbited edge on the backside of the panels will dampen any vibration, just my guess though.

any reason why I couldn't just dowel and glue it all?
@CarAudioFabrication6 жыл бұрын
Youll never get a panel that large into place. It has to be multiple pieces
@Devills_hill6 жыл бұрын
I get that but what if, instead of using magnets, I drill holes and dowel in to place without glue so I can take it out again without a problem

Just be careful. I used magnets to mount crossovers to the inside of my doors. Works GREAT!!!! Except that they attract metal particles to the outside of the doors.
@ADR696 жыл бұрын
Are you not concerned about the magnetic fields interacting with your inductors in the crossovers? Maybe I'm just over thinking it
@richarcm6 жыл бұрын
ADR I haven’t thought much of how it would effect the equipment or the sound. Clearly I didn’t even think it would attract metal shavings on the outside of the door.
