We get asked a lot about how to install Malice Clips which we use to attach all of our pouches. If you haven't used them before it can be a bit tricky. In this video, we show you the right way to use them to attach all your MOLLE pouches.

How many clips should I be useing for the AR500 3 pouch multi caliber pouches on a Valkyrie carrier? Also having issues installing the kangaroo in the pouch behind them? It can’t hold 3 P mags properly with the kangaroo inserted… I’m so use to the old Molle system, maybe this is a rookie mistake? Or maybe because I don’t have plates in the carrier yet things are not sitting correctly?

I bought the triple pistol pouch and it comes with a much shorter MALICE strap. How do you apply the straps? They don’t seem to reach🤷🏿‍♂️ I must be doing something wrong

Excellent question. On the reverse side of the pouch you will notice there are 4 rows of MOLLE. You will only use 3 rows to mount. This means you can mount the pouch lower by using the top 3 rows of MOLLE, or mount the pouch higher, but using the bottom 3 rows of MOLLE. The MALICE clip will only come up short if you are trying to use all 4 rows. Hope this helps!

I went all black…but only because AR didn’t have the BOGO option for OD. Beggars can’t be choosers. I can live, hopefully quite literally, with black. Time wise, yea, slow is accurate and seems pretty typical. That was for my carrier itself. Plates were robbed out of the box during shipping but Desiree was a sweetheart of an angel and squared the issues away! I’m still waiting on my plates…4 of them… but my tourniquet and carrier, mag pouches were BAM at my door!!! Also, the ones saying the clips are too short, are doing it wrong as well lol. Hint: If you're trying to clip it together like a circle/loop, you're doing it wrong lol.

What makes this better than the standard MOLLE straps? I can see the snap button failing for the MOLLE strap, but I have a pouch with the same retention part as the MALICE, and it wore out way faster than my standard snap buttons. Would like to see a test to failure side by side :)

I really hate the malice clips. Pointlessly makes it a pain to set up. I would have an easier time with the normal military straps built onto the pouches. Hell I'll probably have an easier time with a shoe lace than these stiff pieces of plastic.

Thank you for the feedback. We are sorry you are having a hard time. Please feel free to reach out to our customer service if you have having any difficulties. The straps you are referring to are called PALs straps. The problem with PALs straps was 3 fold: The first issue is when the PALs strap tore, they would render the pouch useless. Malice clips are designed to be replaceable keeping your pouch intact. You can keep multiple spare malice clips on your kit for field expedient repairs. The next issue was with the brass or steel buttons used on the PALs strap. Under heavy use, they would rust / corrode from sweat and they either rust shut or corrode the fabric around the snap causing them to break. The last issue issue was the button snap on the strap made it difficult to lace through certain MOLLE patterns such as Laser-cut MOLLE webbing. Due to the low profile of the fabric, it can be a pain to weave the button snap through the tighter fabric layers. Malice clips can also be used on gear like knife sheaths for mounting gear that would otherwise not be able to mount to MOLLE with PALs straps. Hope this info helps!

We are sorry you are having issues. The new clips bend to lock. Once the malice clip is threaded through the proper MOLLE webbing and the head is able to be tucked into the locking bracket, bend the exposed unit (both halves together) and the bent angle will secure the locking bracket in the correct position. To unlock, reverse the process. We wanted a tool-less locking bracket that the malice clips in this video was unable to fulfill. This is borderline ridiculous. The pouches (admin AND tourniquet both)are decent and built well, but at a minimum the malice clips I got TODAY are WAAAAY too short to weave like that..it’s not happening.

So they aren't locking in place? They usually don't click into place very loud. The best way to check whether or not the clips are locked is to try and pull the two sides apart. If they come apart, then they are not locked and likely need to be pushed together a little harder.

Ohh you're talking about Whisky Two Four, right? The difference between their clips and MALICE clips are minimal. They have different locking mechanisms, and the WTF clips are made from a slightly more flexible material. Other than that, the clips are very similar.

They’re not too short. The short ones suck a lot to install. Just take your time and use a tiny screwdriver to help feed it through the molle. I just installed the esstac shortys on my invictus!

Velcro does not adequately secure pouches to the plate carrier. The MALICE clips really do great job of keeping the pouches in place on the carrier.

These are pretty standard MOLLE clips. True, there are MOLLE clips that utilize Velcro or snap closures, but the concept is the same. This definitely isn't something that we came up with and it's definitely not new.

I sent an email for an RMA in March and received a reply in May (eight weeks later), and I just got my replacement today (July 2nd, seven weeks after email reply). So, they are very, very slow right now, but they are responding to and fixing issues (at least in my case); it just requires saint level patience (or apathy) as a consumer. I presume that with a federal body armor ban bill drafted and the recent civil unrest, these wait times will only get worse.
